do you have specific tags for certain posts or do you have your posts organised by what kind of category they fall into? (e.g. anatomy, colours, references, etc)

Simple answer: Yes.

tldr: I try to put in as descriptive to the post as possible. So if it were a a reference guide to horse anatomy I'd have stuff like "horse", "horse anatomy", "anatomy", "animal anatomy".. just trying to imagine what someone would search if they were looking for that thing.

Obviously, I wouldn't mix "human anatomy" in with it because that's just useless, but I can say that with all my posts I've been trying to get as many relevant tags as possible to make it easier on followers, passers by and search engines to direct to the right stuff.
