My favorite trope will always, ALWAYS be mind control fighting. Like when Person A is being mind controlled by whatever source and is forced to try to hurt Person B. But Person B will do everything in their power not to hurt Person A.

Bonus points if they come out of it at the last second right before they kill Person B

Mind Control Trope

This is one of my least favorite tropes. It’s often used whenever an antagonist mind controls someone that is close to the protagonist and orders that person to attack them. In tv shows that’s usually followed by a dragged out episode of the protagonist saying variations of “please snap out of it, I know you’re in there” until that close person eventually does.

Bonus points if the antagonist is a philosophical tool spouting rhetoric about how the protagonist has to kill said mind-controlled character in order to stop them.
