Losing your mind
Losing your mind is usually as easy and casual as taking a trip to the fridge. You don't notice right away, but you come back from it a changed person, and only later do you notice you lost your mind. And you can never be certain you regained it fully, or whether it will happen again.
However, losing your mind may also prove as a perfect way to find yourself. And that is the most scary and rewarding possibility. Finally, having lost your mind, you discover the possibilities that have been hidden before, but also how little it all means, compared to living in the moment.
Losing your mind can happen over time... or it happens in one swift moment, when all your guards are down, and you are unsuspecting. It can be a smile, a look in someone's eyes, a shot of sweet liquor too many, or a sudden kiss.
And then madness takes over, and it is as if you are a different you... or as if the real you has been uncovered suddenly. As if the masks have been stripped, and all that is left is madness... or the truth.
You find it hard to look in the mirror, because there is a stranger there, wearing your face... or maybe it is you, the you that you've been denying this whole time. A hidden you is there, staring back at you, and you are not sure whether it is happiness or sadness you feel; or maybe it is both. A revolutionary thing is happening, all because you lost your mind... or found yourself. And it is wonderful and terrifying in all its glory.
