So lately I’ve been going through & cataloging everything in my closet. I know I have Waaaaay too much stuff but having it actually put into numbers is really eye opening.

Why do I have 140+ items (with still more to go)? Did I really need 37 tops? How did it get to this point?

I want to be more mindful of what I buy in the future. Having an actual curated closet instead of piles of fabric, monuments to my poor impulse control.

But still the voice of mindless consumption is whispering in my head.

Your closet would be better if you got another pair of jeans! Look, you only have black tee shirts, you should get a few more in a different color!

I think we really need to normalise admitting that this is nothing other than embarrassing. Mindless consumerism to achieve a darker lip shade ?? (could be done in two steps, let's be real now) Feeding into the high maintenance, trophy femme "fatale" image. Wake up.
