this is a historically important video, especially for someone like me who’s playing a beta 1.7.3 world. this video was originally uploaded in may 2011, which was minecraft beta 1.5. and this house is INCREDIBLE. it’s amazingly creative, and shows what’s possible with a limited block palette for exterior and especially interior design

case in point, look at this living room! there’s a fireplace with a painting on the chimney, surrounded by bookshelves, and what’s supposed to “kind of look like a leather couch.” the fire and glowstone properly spread light so monsters don’t spawn, and the fire is properly spaced so the shelves don’t burn.
