when I try to download Minecraft skins they end up blurry and Minecraft doesn't recognize them as skins, does anyone know how to fix this?

okay hi. I was honestly going to just leave it at just posting on Reddit but I've learned that this is bugging me a lot more than I thought it would

a while ago I downloaded a MC world that an ex-friend of mine and I used to play on. it was a 1.7 world because he hated the combat update and basically refused to play anything newer. I was totally fine with this though I also wasn't really into MC that much. eventually I just couldn't play 1.7 anymore something to do with graphics or whatever. either way it's basically been half a decade since I've been in that world but I decided to just check it out in singleplayer

this is where all the weird stuff comes in

I have no clue what's going on with the signs let alone that pressure plate. for all I know the Herobrine stuff might just be my friend setting things up to prank me when I got back on. but the signs?

I decided to try posting to Reddit to see if some similar weird shit has happened to anyone else but it doesn't look like it. I hope maybe some people here might have an idea. and if I try poking into things a bit more on my own I can post all that here too. I'm a busy person though so we'll see if I get bothered enough to keep digging

Hey chat this new minecraft update is the laggiest I've ever played in my life

With Vsync on I get 60 fps regularlly but in particle heavy areas I get 28 fps (Which is fine, I'm use to playing MC on 15-20 fps)

However, with Vsync off im rapidly swinging between 118 and 2 fps and I can't tell whats causing it. I cannot trust myself to play my hardcore worlds with this much lag. I still haven't tested this on servers yet this is just singleplayer, I hope its better on servers.

Anyone got any tips? All my settings are rock bottom as I can get them except for render distance but I'll welcome lists of what settings should be at!

This problem is without recourse packs enabled, recourse packs don't seem to affect it tho

HELLO I require assistance. anyone who plays with Minecraft know how to fix a modpack doing this?

checked my graphics card driver and that's all up to date. tried switching shaders. no changes.

this has happend multiple times over multiple modpacks and each time, I have never found a way to fix it. other packs I can play with no problem, just sometimes these specific ones. searching for 'minecraft textures black error' doesn't pull anything useful up either.

Does anyone in the Minecraft community know how to safely transition a Skyblock map to 1.13? I tried loading up my world that I’d been playing on during 1.12 and a good half of the previously air chunks were filled with terrain (though nothing I built was broken). Thankfully I had a backup, but is there any way to stop this from happening, or will I need to go through with the /fill command turning it all to air? (I’ve never used worldedit and I don’t think it’s updated yet anyway)
