Last week I finished up on Bluey. I joined the crew for season 3 as one of the 2D FX Animators. The folks working on the show are not only ridiculously talented, but also just some of the loveliest people. I have so much respect for this beautiful show. It was a dream to be a part of. And I already miss the VFX team. The drawing is a reference to Mini Bluey! - one of my favourite eps this season. Growing up as an identical twin, comparison was constant among friends and family, and it meant there was a real focus on standing out. This ep really goes out of the way to embrace Bluey and Bingo’s differences, good and annoying 💙🧡

So I was watching some Bluey on YouTube instead of Disney+ (where I normally watch it), and in Mini Bluey; the YouTube version has an extra few seconds when Bingo is putting in the fake teeth; which shows Bingo with the fake teeth before the parents see it.
I really wanna know; 1: why was this included in the YouTube version, and 2: why was this excluded in the Disney+ version.

The timeline:
Mini Bluey was heartbreaking.
Okay, let's break this down into a few things
- Bluey is possibly some flavor of neurodivergent, but at the very least, she's an incredibly smart, creative kid with a extremely vivid imagination and a flair for leadership. The equivalent exchange flipside is that she can be a lot to handle. Bluey is aware of this.
- Bluey is six years old, almost seven, and she's in that stage of life where it's natural for her to be more independent, to test boundaries. It's an incredibly important part of growing up and it can be annoying. Bluey is aware of this.
- Bluey is still a little kid.
Bluey can be a lot sometimes, and it's entirely possible she always will be. She needs to know she's loved not in spite of her quirks, but at the end of the day, because of them...because they're part of her, and because she's a wonderful, sweet kid where it really counts.
I need to believe someone told her that after the credits rolled.
