Miniature Soap (a.k.a. Kelli Anne Noftle) has long been one of my favorite singer-songwriters. The beauty and clarity of her lyrics combined with a voice that exudes such an intimate tone is a fantastic combination. This is the type of song that you can listen to and imagine yourself being in the position of the narrator. Who hasn't been in love? Who hasn't been in a relationship that's ended? A highly recommended listen.

Miniature Soap - How To Kiss A Ghost

Kelli Anne Noftle (a.k.a. Miniature Soap) is one of the best under-the-radar singer/songwriters out in Southern California. About two years ago she released her stellar album "I Don't Like You" which is one of my favorite solo efforts by any performer. This morning I felt like revisiting one of those tracks, the hauntingly beautiful "How To Kiss A Ghost". This performance was captured at the studio of producer Raymond Richards where the album was recorded. The intimacy of her singing and lyrics completely draws you into her world. Also, feel free to look up her fine book of poetry "I Was There For Your Somniloquy" published by Omnidawn.

The city burns its lights, looking. We lose focus. Religious habits enter the synapses, cut a quick path to the cornea. The brain turns over. Flashes: is that a shovel in the dirt or a monument? Your pointer finger or an ice pick? I don't mean to be haunted, look hunted. The brain already knows how to turn the body into its tomb. We focus on the end, when the stone gets rolled away. Look, it's open. Scrap of recognition. What happened? For a second I think I am standing. For once, I catch the rasp of your beard and mark the beginning. One time, one kiss inspects every corner in me. We focus on a better answer, ask for proof.
