Worst Character Death (if any) - oh my god one char death that made me rly sad was the North Blade Master (Ji Yunchen I think was his name?) Idk he was so cool and gone too soon lmao.

This made me so happy you have no idea Moment - when Xie Yun finally sees Zhou Fei after being in a coma and ZF just missing him while he's awake etc. Just... UGH so good.

Saddest Moment - When Xie Yun "dies" (ZF thinks he's dead)

((I actually forgot the tag game had a response part to it so I was like '!!!' and really excited and happy when I logged in and saw both your and @owlpockets' messages in my inbox omg 🙈))

Yes! The Lan Wangji fic! So this is very much a piece that has been in the works for a long time (around 2020 is when I started writing it, I believe?) I paused writing it due to a) getting stuck at one point and b) taking a distance from the MDZS fandom as a whole. But lately, I've been re-reading and trying to find some new wangxian fics, and it's really ignited my love to rewatch the drama again and work on the Lan Wangji piece again!

It's set during the early years of Wei Wuxian being dead and Lan Wangji mourning him, and how when he's left to his own solitude and healing his mind won't stop playing scenarios of what would have happened if things had gone differently. He's essentially haunted by losing Wei Wuxian, and the ghosts won't leave him be. Literally - at one point - as in some of his dreams a piece of Wei Wuxian's spirit visits him whilst he's playing inquiry, but it's much too weak to hold any form other than a small orb of light.

It's a piece I love working on because I've been getting a bit creative with the formatting (which, if I ever get around to actually finishing and posting it to the AO3, RIP to me trying to fight the formatting gods). Here's an extract of it I still have:

Yes, i've had the idea for this one for what feels like ages, but never quite knew where to take it... then i found there's going to be a woh/tyk/shl horror zine and i thought: "that's perfect"

The style is a bit experimental for the first part, but we'll see how that turns out when im done.

I can't say too much about it tho, only show you this little excerpt - actually the only thing i had written of this idea until i decided to expand it to apply for the zine!

Jinwang is wide eyed, pale, like he's seen a ghost and he throws his prayer beads at Zhou Zishu in what looks like a knee-jerk reaction.

For a second they seem to catch at Zishu's chest, as if he has remembered they were supposed to hit his body, before they continue, unobstructed. Behind him he hears them clacking against the wall, unto the floor and when he follows with his eyes the wooden beads clatter to the ground. He expected them to scatter, maybe for the string to burst, but instead they just fall. The prayer beads dont bounce, dont roll over the hardwood. They land where they fall like a fat coin purse, like a wet sack of rice or the heavy smack of fresh viscera.

12. Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to?

I am absolutely blaming @blackkatmagic for creating the trope, “there was only one speeder,” and making me want to write it somehow, some way. XD

18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene.

Okay, this one too me a while to figure out, but there's this minor part of a scene in chapter 9 of WYWWM that I just really like.

"You done in the 'fresher?" Waxer asks, and after he's given the all clear, he grabs his clean blacks and slips into the small room to strip down.

His armor is covered in Umbara's fine, grey-purple dust, which wormed its way through the fabric of his blacks within a few hours, despite how impermeable they generally are. His fingernails and toenails are lined with it, and it's dug into the creases of his knuckles and palms. A water shower would feel really nice, but with extra passengers onboard, everyone is restricted to sonics.

Once Waxer squeezes into the tiny stall, he turns it on high. The hairs inside his ears and nose tickle, and his teeth feel like they're floating in his gums, but he wants to get clean fast, and a lower setting isn't going to cut it right now. Looking down at his fingers, he watches the dark particles shiver off his skin in little clouds, floating down through the grating under his bare feet. By the time he can't stand the high setting any more, most of the dust and grime is gone.

It's good enough.

I think the reason I find this so satisfying is that I love establishing a mood and worldbuilding .

I used to do a lot of outdoor work, so I'm very familiar with how much dirt can get under your nails and such, even with gloves on all day. It was fun to include that bit of personal experience into the scene.

And then the bit about how a sonic shower actually gets you clean, and what it feels like, was just me getting to speculate and add a little touch of worldbuilding. :D
