Jong! Jinki has his moments, but jong generally is the one more open about his feelings.
3. Most common argument?
Definitely about Jinki not communicating his feelings, in the variety of forms that can take (not affectionate enough, holding things back, etc)
23. Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?
Jinki...he's already known for it.
17. Who says I love you first?
Tbh, I can see it being jinki since jong is a worrier. Jinki seems to do what he wants when he wants to, so the second it feels right I imagine he'd say it.
19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?
Jong for sure...he's so close to his mom and sister, and jinki tends to be really private about things in his dating life even with family I imagine.
who said i love you first? jong!! jinki is shit at expressing his feelings.who laughs when the other trips? jong, tbh, unless it looks serious.who pays the bills? jinki...he has a better memory for that stuff.which one makes a bigger deal around the holidays? jong!who’s more clumsy? i think it's about 50/50 tbh...who checks their daily horoscope? jong! i think he'd find that stuff funwho sings louder in the car? it's a constant battle...but probably jong until he gives up and just laughs at jinkiwho leaves the cap off the toothpaste? jinki..this would drive jong nutswho is more up to date in pop culture? jong for surewho insists on going to see the newest movies? jong, cause jinki isn't a movie personwho cries when the abused animal commercials come on? too obvious but...jongwho’s the lighter sleeper? jongwho believes in ghosts? jinki!! i remember him talking about them oncewho does the grocery shopping? both of them, together, tho jinki sometimes makes quick trips for beerwho updates their facebook status more often? jong
this is tough! i really like when jong finds his horse and everything kind of falls apart, but i also really like the quiet time with jongyu in the last part. when jinki is bathing jong and jong says that he was willing with taems, and he’s instantly relieved but hurt in a different way. ;-; that killed me to write (especially because a good bit of jinki’s hurt comes from being self-aware enough to know he’d be a hypocrite if he were openly hurt about it, considering he’s slept with other people before).
6. Who’s my favorite character in the fic?
it’s almost always jong tbh, since i usually write from his pov, but in this au i might have to say jinki. there are definitely things i don’t like about him, but he’s the most interesting to me i guess? i really enjoy how he interacts with and treats jong, in terms of showing his affection and trying to care for him, and especially the frustration he gets when he can’t do everything.
7. Were there any major decisions I made about the fic that could have made it go a whole different direction?
yeah...writing part two, when i got to taemin mentioning the horse is basically when i threw things off from how i had originally imagined it. i think at first i initially wanted to write taems as a bit more innocuous, just not realizing how fragile jong is in comparison to himself, and was even thinking about ending it jongtae-y (or onjongtae-y). but realizing jong was just having to take taems word for it, that he was taking care of the horse and all that, made me realize i could try and go a totally different route and attempt doing a twist of some kind. it sounded fun, so i went with it. ^^
i also debated whether or not taems would forcibly bite jong for a while (which is why part 3 was so slow to come around). it was a hard thing to write, for personal reasons and because it would be kinda the tipping point of showing taems character - does he just not get how to treat humans, or is he entirely selfish? especially with how i had sexualized biting in the earlier parts of the fic, i was really worried that it might be read as erotic.
9. Did anyone in the fic surprise me by doing anything? If so, what?
i think going with taems biting jong in part 3 was a surprise for me, kind of...i was unsure about it a long time and it took a while for it to feel “right” - this was actually one of the last scenes i wrote, because i was still feeling out taems before that. i think once i decided to go with the horse killing too, but that wasn’t a surprise by the time part 2 was finished. (i’ll admit i enjoyed seeing people read part 2 and talk about taems without being able to know that yet...it made me excited for the reveal uwu)
14. If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?
answered! but yes, emphasis on a jongyu prequel ;-; i love these babies. maybe if i could add stuff after the series i could push the whole thing to over 50k, which would be nice, but i’m not even gonna attempt it until i feel inspired again.
(I spent all day on a field trip so here I am finally to answer the couple of these I have left uwu) (This is too long)
Jongyu:
Who is louder?
Jonghyun, hands down. I like to imagine lil Jjong whining while he tops Jinki ;__; (And ofc while bottoming too. Plus moans & workout noises, like he’s lifting lmao.) He would be so cute and into it and he would also, I think, talk a lot -- dirty talk, sweet nothings, reassurances, questions, tiny hums. Even his breaths would be louder. Jjong’s a very verbal person.
Jinki for his part would do some of the humming etc. too, but he’d be much more restrained as I think he’s just kind of quiet and contemplative oftentimes. He’d be the type to be thinking during sex, and share a few of those thoughts here and there... or that’s what I imagine.
Who is more experimental?
I kind of think they would play off each other? I don’t see Jongyu as necessarily experimenting for the sake of it, but if something came up they were interested in... yes. Kind of “You’re into that? That’s...surprisingly hot.” That kind of thing. But it might take them a while to get into that because they’d be distracted by how good the sex was lmao
Who takes more risks?
Jinki’s actually a pretty impulsive person, so I think it would be him in this case. I feel like he’s the type to be prudent about sex but to enjoy a little edge of impulse anyway. Recklessness within reason.
Do they fuck or make love?
Oh my god, so much of both. I feel like Jongyu, for me, often goes to extremes and intensities. I can easily see them doing the whole mindless, nerve-searing, singular impulse kind of sex that’s straight-up fucking. But usually I fall into writing them intensely in other ways -- the eye contact, the slow burn that billows into a gasoline fire, the possessive touches that people call making love. *__* And often, both of them combined or somewhere in between.
But then again they would have days where they have a quickie while anime is playing in the background and they can’t stop making dumb jokes about boogers or smthg because let’s face it, it is Jongyu
Lights on or off?
I guess I usually picture them with kind of dim lighting? Moonlight or desk lamps. An ethereal kind of feeling cause I’m a sap. Honestly they’d do it every which way, but I bet Jong prefers the dark or his friggin Yankee candles.
Who is more likely to be caught masturbating?
Jonghyun. It’s Jonghyun. You didn’t even need to ask to know this one. He just has that kind of luck. RIP
Who comes first?
Jonghyun usually, but when Jinki gets overwhelmed... (which imo would happen when he’s more emotional or it’s been a while)
And sometimes I think they’d work at finishing at the same time because they’re cute and would enjoy that uwu
Who is better at oral and who prefers it?
So, despite Jinki taking a very rational approach to it and having a really nice controlled vibe I think Jonghyun’s enthusiasm would make him sort of unbeatable. He’d be the type to really enjoy giving head because of the whole oral fixation thing... and I think Jinki enjoys getting it. What a lucky, fortuitous coincidence. O happy day. (Jinki would still like playing with him by going down on him though)
Who is more submissive?
Because I feel Jonghyun is the type to want to please his partner more than anything, it would be him, technically. But I see Jongyu as such a balanced pairing... the ‘submissiveness’ wouldn’t be as important as the constant give and take, not necessarily in equal proportions, but in the proportions necessary to keep everything on an even keel. It’d go back and forth some.
Who usually initiates things?
Jinki maybe? I don’t know. This really really depends on the AU and I usually don’t think of pairings as being unbalanced in that respect cause if only one person wants it all the time people just don’t jive well
Who is more sensitive?
Jonghyun, which is a big part of the reason he comes first 60-70% of the time lmao
P.S. I know I usually write Jinki topping in Jongyu but I mostly headcanon them switching (like most pairings) I just like writing Jinki topping a lot bc he’s funP.P.S. I know that had nothing to do w this question I just felt like saying it ok

Jinki tries to find time for Jonghyun, little slips of space between schedules for them to be alone again, but there usually isn’t room for anything but more kisses and a soft nip to his neck. Jonghyun stops checking his phone between takes, instead looking for the curve of Jinki’s smile that tells him to follow. Today, Jinki waits until the rest of the members are preoccupied with the lunch before sending a signal, tilting his head towards the now-empty dressing room and nodding when Jonghyun gets up to leave. He gives it another minute before he follows, excusing himself with a joke about a ripped seam that leaves Taemin laughing.
“Wasn’t sure you’d show up,” Jonghyun says the moment he enters, reaching around Jinki to shut the door behind them.
It’s sort of ridiculous, Minho supposes, that he’s already halfway through his twenties and this is the first time in his life he’s actually buying a suit. Trying to buy one, to be more specific, as he doesn’t seem to get anywhere with that. What is it that makes it so hard for him to make such a simple decision all of a sudden?
Truthfully, he does know the reason to that. The following Friday, only three short days away, he’s going to have a job interview. And not just any job interview, but an interview for the position he’s been longingly dreaming of for years now. He’s driven his friends crazy talking about the career he wants to create, the plans he has for his future, and he really really needs to get this job.
The first suit he tries on looks horrible. It’s like he has no shoulders in it, and people with no shoulders can’t be trusted, right? The next one he tries on is white and he immediately feels awkward in it, like he’s in a wedding he’s not actually supposed to attend. The third one… well, it’s not exactly any better as he could fit twice inside of the pants.
It takes up until the suit number six before he can’t find anything wrong with what he’s wearing at first glance. It should be acceptable, by all standards, but somehow he feels like he doesn’t look good enough in it. He doesn’t look respectable enough. Yet he doesn’t know why.
If only he’ll keep on staring at it long enough, maybe it’ll start looking better.
Suddenly, there’s loud insistent knocking on the door.
“Hey! What are you doing in there?” someone shouts from the other side. “Are you actually even awake? People are supposed to try on an outfit in a changing cubicle and then, you know,
let someone else do it too
.”
Truthfully, Minho has to admit he might have been in there for quite some time. With a sigh, he turns around and opens the door, to come face to face with a very put-off looking man. A very attractive one, too, he can’t help but notice. Clearing his throat, he fidgets a little, feeling very self conscious in his ill-fitting suit. “I’m sorry, it’s just…” he hesitates, but then decides he can’t get any more pathetic than this. “I have this job interview. It’s kind of a big deal, too.”
The man arches an eyebrow. He gives Minho a long, evaluating glance, before giving his verdict. “And you’re wearing that?”
The way it sounds like he’s committing a cardinal sin makes Minho slightly more uncomfortable. “…yes?”
There’s another judgemental lift of an eyebrow. “No.” It’s accompanied by a curt headshake.
“No?” Minho repeats. He turns a little, to offer the man a sideways view on the outfit. Maybe it looks better from another angle?
Turns out it doesn’t. At least judging by the firm “No.” that is the only answer he gets.
“Oh.” Minho knows he sounds disappointed. Yet he really, really doesn’t want to try on another half a dozen suits to find one that maybe fits him well enough to consider. He’s so screwed. He’s never going to get that job.
Apparently there’s something in his expression that portrays his defeat, because the firm expression on the man’s face softens immediately. He even offers a quick smile. “Wait right there.”
He’s gone before Minho manages to even react so he does. He can’t help but keep fidgeting, and he keeps glancing at the mirror every once in a while just to make sure that the suit hasn’t magically started to look better.
Finally, after what feels like way too long, there’s a tap on Minho’s shoulder and a suit pushed right at him. “Here, try this.”
Minho wants to argue that it’s the exact same kind of suit than the one he’s already wearing. They’re both black, aren’t they? And how many different ways can there be to make a suit, anyway? It’s not like changing from one to another would make him look any different. Besides this one has a price tag three times as much as the previous one, and he’s inclined to think that it’s not any better.
Except three minutes later he’s standing there, staring at himself in the mirror. The suit fits perfectly. Compared to this one, the previous suit hung on him like a potato sack. The difference is so major that Minho can’t tear his gaze away for a good while. He even makes a little swirl to admire the outfit.
He stops admiring himself only when he realizes he’s being laughed at. Frowning, he turns around, only to witness the man who just helped him almost doubled over with laughter. “What’s that funny?” he asks, petulantly.
“You,” the man says, still laughing. Somehow he manages to control himself and make it stop, but he’s still grinning widely when he straightens and steps closer to Minho. “Then again, who could blame you? You look absolutely dashing in that suit. Buy it.”
With one last glance at the mirror Minho nods slowly. “Okay, I will.”
“Alright,” the man claps his hands together once. “Now get out of the cubicle, it’s my turn.”
-
Only when he’s halfway home Minho realizes he really should’ve asked the man’s name. Or his phone number. Or both. Preferably both.
-
The following Friday is the best day of Minho’s life. He aces the job interview, and looks absolutely dashing while he’s at it. From the moment he walks into the building he gains approving looks from everyone around him, there are two pieces of paper with a phone number slipped to him, and one very direct proposal. It all sort of feeds his ego, more than a bit, and he feels like he’s walking on clouds all day.
He doesn’t even need to be persuaded to join his friends out for a drink at the end of the day. A part of him wants to wear the exact same suit he wore in the interview, but eventually he decides that’s not quite the impression he wants to give. Besides, he’s always looked damn good in casual attire.
Minho is leaning against the counter, a drink in hand, and keeps eyeing the dance floor trying to decide whether his good luck for the day would get him through attempting to dance as well. He’s interrupted by Jonghyun suddenly grabbing his arm to gain his attention.
“Hey, Minho!” Jonghyun grins excitedly, pulling someone with him. “There’s someone I want you to meet! Remember Kibum, the new guy at work I’ve been talking to you about? Well here he is!” As he speaks he nudges the person who’d been following him, and as soon as the other man steps away from behind him Minho recognizes who he is.
“You?” Minho says, laughter in his voice. He definitely never expected to see the mysterious stylist man from before again. “Nice to meet you again, Kibum.” Wow, his memory didn’t play tricks on him, the man really is gorgeous. Even more so now that he’s dressed up a bit, his pants illegally tight and his shirt slightly hanging off one shoulder in a way that makes Minho want to put his mouth right there…
“Again?” Jonghyun asks. He is completely ignored.
Instead Kibum tilts his head a little, giving Minho an evaluating look, much like before. Except this time there’s no judgemental eyebrow involved. Instead he looks impressed, like he’s enjoying the sight. “Now,” he nods, “that’s a good look on you.”
The compliment makes Minho feel even better about today. If that’s humanly possible at this point anymore. Before he even realizes he’s speaking he’s already asking “Can I buy you a drink?” Only distantly he realizes that Jonghyun is complaining in the background, before conveniently retreating while mumbling something about an interesting new persons to meet.
Kibum doesn’t even blink at that, so obviously he’s paying as little attention to their friend as Minho is. Instead he shifts a little closer to Minho, boldly reaching out for his drink. Minho lets it go easily, just watching as Kibum takes a sip. The way Kibum licks his lips afterwards is sort of hypnotizing, and Minho nearly misses it when he speaks up again. “So, did you get the job or are you just otherwise interested?”
With a chuckle Minho takes his drink back, already beckoning the bartender to come closer so he can order them a round. “Both. Definitely both.”
“Then, yes, I’d love a drink,” Kibum laughs, a joyful sparkle in his eyes.
