Softer Prompts - {Accepting!}
“C’mon Elle! You’re gonna miss it!” Mint shouted down the hill, bounding forward with far too much energy for the time of night.
“It’s happening all night I doubt I would miss it...” Elletha trailed behind, eventually reaching the top of the hill where Mint had already chosen a place for them to sit.
Elletha took her place beside her friend and leaned back on her arms, looking at the stars above. They had been graced with a clear sky, it was a little chilly, especially on the top of this hill, but it was worth braving to see the shooting stars that had yet to arrive.
“Once every 100 years this happens, 100 years! If we missed it because you couldn’t climb the hill fast enough we’d never see it again. Wouldn’t you feel bad?” Mint asked, not taking her eyes off the sky for a second.
Elletha made a noise in agreement, “I suppose I would. Although there’s no need to worry becau-”
“Shh! It’s starting!” Mint excitedly pointed up to the sky, where a bright light had begun to trail across the dark night. She stared at it for a moment before clasping her hands together and closing her eyes, “You have to make a wish on it. It’s guaranteed to come true.”
A silence fell over them, Mint concentrating hard on her wish.
Elletha smiled at her companion and clasped her hands together in a similar fashion.
“A wish? Just for more moments like this.”
