Ok so according to your intro you love telling the story of how you got into writing. I’m a sucker for origin stories!! The floor is yours.

Hello, friend!!

I DO absolutely love telling this story so to everyone who's already heard this a million times, apologies but I will probably never stop telling it haha

So when I was younger, I actually hated writing. Other than having to write for school, I absolutely refused to write anything despite my love for storytelling. Like I remember having to write on an entire big piece of paper for school once and at one point I wrote "sooo..." until it filled out the entire page and I could be done with it haha

Anyways, 12 y/o Elijah eventually came across The Walking Dead (the show, comics, & games) and I have no idea what happened but I had suddenly decided that not only could I write an entire zombie apocalypse story, I could write one that would rival TWD. So try I did.

Long story short, I wrote roughly 60+ pages of what was basically TWD fanfiction on pure determination alone. I actually still have access to some of it, although the entire thing is currently locked away in a password-protected Word doc on a laptop that blue screens every .2 seconds.

So yeah, basically after that I realized that writing was in fact not that terrible and here we are, 10 years later (:

(I know I got these asks a few days ago, but I’m back from my trip to San Diego now, so here we go!)

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

Honestly, not very much. I haven’t moved or anything. The only different thing about my room is that I have more books and a new poster from when I saw Hadestown on tour.

14. Favorite book you read this year?

Okay, this was so hard because I read a lot this year and there are quite a few books that could be contenders (anything by Donna Tartt, Wuthering Heights, the Brothers Karamazov, etc.) but I think I have to say The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I’ve read it 3 times this year already and I think about it constantly. It rewired my brain. I recommend it to everyone. I finished my second re-read just a few weeks ago and I’m already considering another… it’s so great. (I also wrote a fic for it, shameless plug to any tsh fans 👀)

1. Song of the year?

My top Spotify wrapped song was ‘Achilles Come Down’ by Gang of Youths so I guess it’s that one? Which really gives you insight into my brain this whole year but also always ✌️
