I can do a little brotp for you. 

As Snapdragon, Marinette was used to how she traveled. She wasn’t super fast, could sort of glide, and was straight and true in her path; she always got to her detestation smoothly. 

It was not so with Roi Singe. He was, quite literally, a monkey in how he traveled. He moved quickly, swung about wildly, and seemed to leave everything to chance. And as he was the one escorting her around, Marinette could only cling tightly, her screams rivaling Roi’s eager laugh as they were flung through the air. 

When he came to a stop, she rasped, “You’re crazy.” 

“No, I’m a monkey,” he said cheekily. 

“A crazy monkey.” 

Roi snorted, insisting, “You’re having fun.” 

“That’s debatable,” Marinette grumbled, tightening her hold on Roi as the monkey hero moved forward, the akuma hunting her hot on their tail.

Hopping onto her chair after tossing aside her bag, Marinette almost fell over, but she managed to catch herself with her desk and pull herself up to her computer. Booting it up after putting it to sleep earlier, she picked up her headset and started up her game. As soon as she was online and in the group session, she heard the voice chat queue up.

Chat Noir: Good afternoon, My Lady! Ready to start the hunt today? One last Monster before the expansion!

Ladybug: As tempting as sticking to our plan is, two friends are finally starting today and I figured we could help them.

Chat Noir: Really? Well, I guess that’s fine. At least it means no more full squads with randos.

Ladybug: Right?? Oh, I’m getting the request to join now. Lemme add them into the session and invite them to the Guild.

It took a moment going through the UI, but two more characters soon popped into their session. After sending her Guild card and the “MiracuSquad” Guild invite, the two obvious newcomers appeared in the Gathering Hub. Not hard to tell who was Alya and who was—

Chat Noir: Woah! Nino?

Carapace: Uh, sup? Wait, Adrien? Dude!

Ladybug: Chat Noir, your helm is still visible.

Chat Noir: Oh, right.

Ladybug: So, Rena Rouge and Carapace, huh?

Rena Rouge: I’ve been promised some awesome armor down the line so I’m being preemptive.

Carapace: Yeah, and I’ve been eyeing these bulkier weapons from the tutorials I’ve been watching.

Ladybug: Cool, cool! That’s great because I run Insect Glaive and Chat Noir chose the Long Sword.

Carapace: Oh gosh he would… weeb.

Chat Noir: HEY! The Long Sword is pawsome, fangnk you very much! I could’ve picked Duel Blades.

Marinette groaned over her microphone, but also leaned back in her chair, covering her face briefly. Rena Rouge – Alya – laughed at her plight.

Rena Rouge: And you’ve been playing alone with him this whole time? Girl, you are masochistic.

Ladybug: Thanks.

Chat Noir: You’ll excuse me. Puns are my character.

Carapace: Wait, we roleplay in this game??

Ladybug: Not really, but Chat Noir does. Anyway, I think we should divide and conquer to get you both going and work together for the major plot points. I’ll take Rena Rouge and Chat, you have Carapace. How does that sound?

Chat Noir: Sounds purrfect!

Rena Rouge: I’m game!

Carapace: Shore!

Ladybug: Oh no…

Rena Rouge: You better not…!

Chat Noir: WOOHOO!

Marinette shook her head, but laughed under her breath. She was going to suffer from more puns, but this was already a promising start.
