It's been two months since Thunderbolts* was released in theaters and I'm still not over this cinematic masterpiece. It was not only action packed, but it also told an emotionally charged story. I love that the focus was on mental health and it was done in a way that was respectful as well as relatable.
Personally, I've cried every single time that I've watched it and I'm not ashamed to admit that. I cry because I relate to how Yelena felt as if her life didn't have purpose and she was all alone in life. I cry because I relate to how Bob felt as if he didn't matter and he would only mess things up. I've felt those things for as long as I can remember. I'd like to say that I've gotten better at managing those feelings, but I haven't. Not really. I still struggle with depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and anxiety every single day. Sure, I've found things and people that bring me joy and make me feel as if I do have a purpose. I still struggle to get through the day occasionally and maybe it'll always be that way. All that matters is that right now I'm doing my best and I'm surviving.
With that being said, I especially relate to the Void because I know what it's like to try to outrun the emptiness inside me and not let the darkness take over everything. Some days are better than others.
Since I've watched the movie, I've wondered which one of my worst memories the Void would show me. I've since realized that it's probably a memory that I've buried so deep down that I've forgotten about it out of self preservation.
I'll end this post with praising Florence and Lewis because they played their characters with absolute perfection. I can't wait to, hopefully, see more of this amazing duo in Avengers: Doomsday because their chemistry is electric and this duo is the best!!!!
They're doing some Persona 4 Shit in this Kamen Rider Series.
