You know, I actually like “Masquerade” better as an overall name for the Akumatized!AU I keep coming back to. I mean, when these two aren’t going out to take care of crimes, they have to play nice... even if they’re corrupted as they are and can have violent outbursts.
Anyway, catching up! Be back with ‘Blind Date’ in a bit... also, it won’t be so much a Blind Date lul.

Summary: On the day you meet your soulmate, you’ll have a dream. In this dream, you live out your soulmate’s life to see who they were, who’ve they’ve become, and learn how you’ll be the one to change their future for the better.
Warning: No beta! Time Travel-ish with Soulmate AU!
The night before a person meets their soulmate, they have a dream.
It’s nothing symbolic or confusing like a lot of dreams; it could almost be called a lucid dream, but nothing could be altered. Because, the reality was the dream wasn’t any old dream - it was their soulmate’s life.
It was invasive, but that was just how the world worked. And when Marinette heard about it the first time, she frowned. She worried what kind of person might be her soulmate, what kind of past they would have, and if seeing some tragic backstory was really enough to accept that soulmate. There was always marrying someone who wasn’t her soulmate, but her Maman always reminded her:
“Everyone has their story, and anyone is possible of change. If you can help them change into a better person, why not try?”
Marinette tried to keep that in mind, but she wasn’t going to be that optimistic about it. Maybe there were too many stories she’d heard and seen that contributed to her opinion, but it also wasn’t helped by her present interactions with some people like Chloe. Maybe if it was someone she’d never met, it would be fine, but she remained nervous.
It was the night before school started it happened.
It was so visceral and bewilderingly real that, were she actually in control, she would’ve fallen over. But that was not the case as she seemed to run, dashing with so much excitement through the halls of a house (no, this had to be a mansion or something) that was far too big and barren. Her soulmate didn’t seem to care; he was focused on running to a woman that far towered over him with the brightest green eyes and matching smile.
This woman – his mother - was around for a majority of her soulmate’s memories, but she did catch glimpses of a man who looked so stern and generally walking another way. Other than that, it seemed so far so good…
Until his mom disappeared and suddenly, her soulmate was keenly aware of how empty his home was.
Watching his life suddenly became less lively, quiet, and very lonely jolted her heart thinking about her own parents. It wasn’t like he was alone, but for all the people that did appear, none of them ever smiled or engaged him outside of telling him his homeschool schedule, where his next modeling shoot was (her soulmate was a model? Coincidence or irony?), or reprimanding him. She wondered what would happen next; if he would rebel like many kids do or try something else.
A little of both it seemed…
“Okay… if I run, I should make it before they even realize I’m gone. Collège Françoise Dupont…”
She shot awake with a gasp and sprung out of bed. Her alarm had already gone off once, but at least her Maman wasn’t calling for her to get up yet. Hurrying around, getting ready, she thought it odd that – after all her years of fretting over her soulmate – now she was rushing to meet them. But it was like her Maman said: she could help him. And a boy like that, so sweet and kind and lonely, just wanted someone to be there for him again.
Marinette didn’t even remember eating breakfast as she hustled to school and stood at the steps, looking around while other people went inside. When the warning bell rang, she realized she didn’t consider him not being able to get away like he thought. She knew this would be cutting it close, but she couldn’t leave in case he might show.
The hurried footsteps were loud in her ear and she turned her head, bluebell eyes widening when she caught his own emerald green. He slowed as he approached the stairs, never taking his eyes off her.
“… Are you…?” they both started and stopped, blinking. Both of their faces turned pink and he seemed to shrink.
She decided to be bold.
“Marinette…” and she held out her hand, surprising him.
In the moment he hesitated, a car pulled up to the curb, but neither of them really paid attention. Instead, he reached out, taking hold of her hand and joining her on the same step.
AU Yeah August Day Twenty-Eight - Fight Club/Mythology
SO, two things:
I’ve never seen ‘Fight Club’ so I can’t even begin to make an AU for it. I don’t really care for seeing it either.
There’s no Twenty-Seventh on the AU calendar and I only noticed now. I thought it was Detective, but that has the 28th so ???
So, because of these things, I decided to roll back to Mythology and draw Persephone!Marinette (Perseinette? Mariphone? IDK) Maybe when it’s Dealer’s Choice, I’ll draw up Hades!Adrien (Adries? Hadrien? /loud shrug) but I also wanna do something for my Nine Lives AU. See you tomorrow!

Pairing(s): Adrinette, one-sided Adrien x Lila
Summary: For the longest time, Lila was Adrien’s only real sort of companion in the Underworld.
Warning: No beta! Hades and Persephone AU!
Lila was angry – no, angry was an understatement.
She was furious.
For the longest time, Lila was Adrien’s only real sort of companion in the Underworld. Sure, there were all the others who brought the souls for him to judge once they crossed the Styx, but she was the one who actually talked to him. It didn’t get anywhere the brunette nymph would like, but he was still hers.
So to have this ‘Queen of the Underworld’ come waltzing in and taking all his time, how dare she! She was no Queen; just some meager little flower goddess that distracted Adrien from the spirit that had always been here for him. Because of her, he hadn’t come to see her and even refused to let her come see him after the last they spoke.
… Well, okay, maybe she said a few disparaging things about the new Queen in front of him, but he’d never gotten mad about her talking like that before.
She must’ve enchanted him - maybe even had Kim strike him with one of his love arrows. That had to be it; otherwise, how else could he fall in love with such an underwhelming being. Scowling, she soon grinned. Good thing she was such a quick thinker and recognized such vile enchantment.
Lila began to spread the word to the others in the Underworld, telling them all about the awful Goddess-now-Queen of their Realm, and how she didn’t belong. Her beauty – only dwarfed by the Love Goddess herself – seemed to sway plenty; and if that didn’t work, her words certainly sowed the seeds of descent. So, she only needed to wait for Adrien to be away which wasn’t difficult since she knew his schedule.
Storming the Palace with her army, Lila marched to the throne room, and halted.
There were the two ebony thrones and where she expected the Queen to be sitting, she was standing – like she had been waiting. Wearing her crown made of precious metals upon her raven hair that was woven by larkspur and lilies, Marinette eyes – blue as the Sea God’s oceans – leered down upon Lila and her drove. At once, the nymph felt her forces falter, especially as the Queen’s black robes shifted and she began to approach them.
“So, you did come Lila… a little birdie and very embodiment of Death warned me,” she said, stopping a short distance in front of the furious nymph. “He told me everything to. Apparently, some ‘hideous Mortal Realm Goddess used Kim’s enchanted arrows to become Queen’, or something to that summation. Didn’t even wonder why you only had mortal souls gathering with you, did you?”
There was a steady, unnerving calm to the Queen Goddess’s voice, but Lila refused to back down. However, glancing behind her, she saw many of the souls now cowered, some on their knees and others with their heads bowed and begging for forgiveness; that they’d ‘yet seen the marvelous new Queen themselves’. Marinette’s lip curled, “Since you don’t seem to know much about me, I’ll tell you this… I hate liars and their pathetic lies.”
“Pathetic lies? I told the truth!” Lila exclaimed, pointing a finger. “You’re the Goddess of Spring? Look how pale you are and your figure; how could you ever garner Adrien’s attention is beyond me, you sickly little twig! You were jealous of us because I’ve satisfied him in ways you can’t imagine long before you got here!”
“Yes. He told me about his ‘nymph friend’,” Marinette spoke, still smiling though her eyes were glowing. “Everything really; he’s so honest and sweet. He even mentioned how uncomfortable your touches could be, but it’s not like knows the typical nature of you nymphs like I do.”
“My touches were not uncomfortable. He wanted them; he wanted me,” Lila snarled.
“Oh?” Marinette tilted her head and innocently touched her cheek. “Then why weren’t you Queen already? Why weren’t you the one married to him already?”
Taken aback, the nymph’s face flushed violently. “Because he never said he was ready--!”
“Because you don’t do commitment,” the Queen retorted.
“I would have!”
“He didn’t want you and if you were a good friend, you would accept that. And you have no one to blame, but yourself why he disavowed you to come to the Palace like this.”
Unable to hold back her fury anymore, Lila lunged at the Queen, but she didn’t even reach halfway before green engulfed her limbs and she found the Goddess growing – nay, found herself shrinking. Down, down, her feet sinking into the ground, her limbs suddenly wide leaves and completely unable to move; she didn’t even pass Marinette’s ankle and the Goddess was staring down at her, flowers adorning her crown glowing with her eyes.
“… I let you be because you were his friend once. However, I will not let you spread any of your lies in this domain any longer. And thus, I send you to the Mortal Realm, never to return to him or your form again.”
The once-nymph Lila felt her consciousness fade as she further shrunk down, vision turning black as the mint disappeared into the earth.

Summary: To stop the misfortune that plagues her town, Marinette goes to the deity that resides in the mountain temple.
Warning: No beta! Cat’s Bride AU! Also, Plagg briefly mentioned, but it’s actually Chat/Adrien as named by the people in this AU.
The path through the forest seemed relatively clear through her veil, but she clutched the black roses closer to her chest all the same. Maybe this was a bad idea; if she was attacked by an animal, no one would know – well, Alya might, but that wouldn’t change much. It wasn’t like the town would come save her if she was in danger. They would wake up tomorrow, find her gone, and just throw a party; their animosity towards her had never been a secret.
They didn’t mind sacrificing their best bakers until they realized they failed to kill her.
Didn’t hesitate to immediately say their actions were her fault.
So she was partially doing this for selfish reasons – well, if removing herself from the town was being selfish, but it was helping them too. Get rid of the source of their misery and maybe meeting the deity by the mountain.
“… I didn’t even consider what to do if he wasn’t still there,” she mumbled, feeling her eyes sting. “But, I’ve already come this far. What’s there for me if I went back? Alya doesn’t have a chance to leave if she’s worrying about me.”
Maybe being attacked by an animal wouldn’t be the worst option.
Not that the thought stopped her from jumping at a nearby rustling. Slowly turning her head, her eyes grew when she saw the foliage move again, shaking harder and louder than moment’s ago. Whatever was there was about to step out, and she saw her life flashing before her… and death stepping out of the bushes suddenly sounded like a blessing for everyone again.
“Meow!”
“…. Huh?”
The rustling had stopped and double taking, the black cat – a familiar black cat.
“Have you been following me, kitty?” she asked, kneeling down and outstretching a hand towards it. It approached with the barest sniff to her fingers, its whole body already vibrating as it purred and rubbed against her hand. Giggling, she sighed, “At least you always liked me… You wanna walk with me one more time? Maybe the deity will let you stay at the temple…”
Then he wouldn’t have to worry about going back and possibly getting kicked by one of the townspeople. Not that they were normally a danger to him, but whether that was him alone or her being nearby, she didn’t know. Either way, right now, he appeared to accept her offer with a chirr and turned, stalking ahead down the forest path. Marinette followed, pleased to have a friend, but sad that this might be the last time she saw the cat. He’d always come when Alya couldn’t, and now this would be goodbye to one more friend so she could keep the deity company.
Fortunately, there were no more surprises as they neared and the dark path gradually began to brighten with the trees thinning near the mountain, allowing more of the waxing moon’s light to reach the ground. The temple was – well – it could’ve been better. Though built into the mountain itself, there were statues worn by time and indiscernible anymore as to their original forms anymore. What could be seen – what parts were broken off – were covered by plant growth. As for the building, much of it suffered from erosion and rock slides, but the ‘door’ was still somehow clear despite everything.
Her feline companion continued on while she stood outside, looking above the doorway to try seeing the worn down carvings there. She could make just a little out barely; two figures and what might be her bouquet being exchanged between them.
A whoosh and blaze of crackling orange light snapped her attention away from the doorway and leaping back from the temple door. Inside, a torch had caught with more following with similar sudden pops. That unsure feeling was coming back as she gazed into the now alit inner sanctum and saw no one present – no one but her cat companion gazing back towards her in mid-stride with his gleaming green eyes. He walked on and she steeled her nerves to step inside herself.
“Kitty… We don’t know if you’re allowed to be in here…” she called in a hushed tone, her voice echoing despite her actions. Though she said that, it probably was okay – there were cats depicted on the walls, small and sitting before a bigger cat - no, a bipedal creature with a cat’s head and tail. Above and behind this beast’s back, dark mist seemed to swirl, but it did not show anywhere near cats or humans later shown on the wall.
Because there was the cat creature again with another wearing the customary garments and veil: the cat’s bride.
“Hm… I wonder why the bride never stayed,” Marinette said aloud, staring at the two. “If he had a permanent bride, maybe this wouldn’t be happening now.”
The flames around her flickered.
“The bride’s permanence has nothing to do with your town’s misfortune.”
Eyes bulging, Marinette spun around on her heels and would’ve fallen over were it not for the black claw that caught her. She managed to stifle her gasp and raised her head slowly, taking in the lithe form holding her, dark fur covering their torso, chest, neck, even their face with smatterings of golden yellow throughout. The feline face, those electric green eyes, her heart stuttered. It was the cat god no doubt, but she knew those eyes – he’d been with her the whole time.
“K-Kitty…”
“Marinette…” he answered, his voice bearing a purring rumble. His large triangle ears lowered. “It’s my fault. The day you were born was the anniversary of when I realized your town abandoned me. The misfortune I drew away and used to protect your people poured out of me in my mourning and began to plague they town. If our arrangement continued, I would’ve stopped it, but they started using you as a scapegoat… I was angered and intentionally began to curse them while watching after you. And yet, you came here… you’re offering yourself for them?”
His fault? But from the sound of it, the tradition was broken by her town; it wasn’t his fault for their action or thoughts. Still, he did escalate their ire, but he’d been trying to protect her?
“… I don’t know,” she sighed. “I was wondering that myself when I started walking tonight… am I here for the town? For myself? Both might be more accurate. They don’t have to deal with me anymore, but I don’t have to be around them anymore either… And you don’t have to blame yourself, Lord Plagg. What you did was just in response to them; and I can understand hating being alone.”
Steady on her feet, standing chest to chest – er, more accurately, her head to his chest level – she gazed up at the cat god. His green eyes were wide and pupils expanded, shrinking back when he processed her words. The claw that held her before came up to hold her hands still clutching the black rose bouquet.
“… Call me Chat. I always liked it when you did,” he replied with a smile, but then brought his muzzle closer to her forehead. “No matter what you think your reason is, you’ve always had a kind heart, Marinette; far kinder than both the town and I deserve. Do you really… not mind being mine forever?”
“I don’t mind. Neither of us has to be lonely anymore this way,” she whispered, heartbeat racing. She remained still, waiting to see what he would do. It took a moment for him to act, and his other claw came up to draw back her veil over her head, pressing it against her back as he held her closer.

Pairing(s): Adrinette (in the making)
Summary: There’s an adorable blonde girl that always seems to wander into Marinette’s design class.
Warning: No beta! Mixed with Single Parent AU.
Emilie was her name and Marinette couldn’t believe how adorable the little girl was.
One day, she just wandered into the studios during Marinette’s lecture on the verge of tears, evidently lost on campus. Letting the students begin brainstorming their midterm projects, she calmed the little girl and asked all the important questions: what was her name; where were her parents; did she want to stay in her class for now until they could go find them (just him apparently)?
Emilie Agreste was her full name and just from that, she needn’t say anything more.
Still, how the girl had wandered all the way from the Science department to the Studios without anyone stopping her was beyond Marinette. She made sure to contact the Physics Professor, informing him through the school’s phone before returning to her class. After lectures were out, sure enough her door was forcibly opened with a bang, and standing there, raggedly breathing as though having run a marathon, Professor Adrien Agreste.
“Papa!”
Emilie, who Marinette had occupied with some paper to draw on, was up on her feet and dashing to the gasping man. He gained enough air to kneel down before she reached him and picked her up into his arms, hugging her tight. “Thank goodness… Emma, you scared papa disappearing like that. What happened? Wasn’t Ms. Rossi watching you?”
Marinette grimaced at the last name and her scowl darkened when Emilie shook her head. “She went outside and I tried to find her.”
“Last time I ask her for a favor…” he muttered, rolling his eyes and shifting her into one arm. Green eyes looking past, Marinette gave a start when they settled on her and – oh no – she wasn’t ready for her fellow Professor’s smile. Those rumors of him having been a model had to be true.
“Thank you, Ms. Dupain-Cheng, right? If you hadn’t called, I would’ve cancelled my lectures for the rest of today…”
“Oh dear. Glad I could save you and your students from a worst-case scenario,” she replied with a giggle. It wouldn’t have been so bad for one class to be cancelled – it was wonderful he would do that to find his little girl – but in the same breath, she could only imagine the heck that would be playing catch-up in a Physics course. Her face fell back into curious neutral. “If you don’t mind my asking, why did you bring your daughter to the University?”
“Well, I would normally leave her in daycare or with her grandfather, but her daycare is closed this week due to emergency remodeling and her grandfather is out of the country. He took my usual back-up sitters with him,” he sighed, shaking his head. “I’m going to try finding a sitter tonight and see if they’re able to start tomorrow until this weekend.”
Where one might begin asking why his wife wouldn’t watch their daughter, everyone knew that Professor Agreste was single. Marinette had her theories, but everyone on campus did; though, if she recalled correctly, the Music department’s head Nino Lahiffe knew the whole story. Rumored tales aside, the Fashion Design professor recollected herself and shook her head.
“You don’t have to do that. I can watch her here,” she offered, and she must’ve surprised him. “She was very well behaved today, and my students will be working on their midterm projects all week. Besides rollcall and answering whatever questions they have, I really won’t be doing much.”
“Are you sure?” he asked, his voice apprehensive. “I wouldn’t want her getting in the way or bothering you while you’re helping…”
Waving a hand at him, she walked over to the papers Emilie had been drawing on earlier and began to flip through them. Many of them were what one would expect of a five-year-old, but it was the subject matter of the drawings that caught her eye.
“It’s fine, I promise. In fact…” Walking over to Adrien, she handed over the papers to him. “It looks like someone’s interested in some of the old projects still on display in here.”
“Huh…” Somehow, he was managing to look through the drawings with the one hand. “She does like to try helping father whenever she’s with him… If you really don’t mind, Ms. Dupain-Cheng...”
“Not at all, Mr. Agreste. Anything I can do to help a fellow Professor.”
She watched him grimace before he next spoke. “Just Adrien will be alright.”
“’Just Adrien’? Well, then, it’s ‘just Marinette’ from now on.”
That earned another smile from the Physics Professor along with a soft chuckle. Her heart fluttered at the sound only to ache a second later.
She hoped she wasn’t setting herself up for heartbreak again; no, she would be careful.
Again, what’s the difference between ‘Supernatural’ and ‘Fantasy’? Technologies prominence I think because, where science is normal and the world is more like ours, magic is something only believed in. Anyway, have a reverse of the usual Witch/Familiar in Miraculous with Adrien as the Witch and Marinette as the familiar. She’s a mouse because she turned into a bug before annnnd someone tried to squish her... yup.
Thanks Chloe and then repeat with Lila. Chloe gets better in this AU

Summary: Marinette loves making cosplays, but she’s too nervous to cosplay herself. Adrien thinks she’ll be great and offers a solution.
Warning: No beta!
Marinette made costumes.
More accurately, Marinette made cosplays.
As an aspiring designer, she didn’t limit herself to a show or series, accepting any request as they came. It was a good way to work on designing clothes outside of the standard, everyday stuff, or attempting to mimic a designer’s signature style when redesigning another’s. Yes, it was a great opportunity to practice, and it made her customers happy.
There were some times, though, that she would be working on a cosplay… and she thought about wearing it. Of course, it was silly; she loved going to conventions to see people wearing the outfits she made, but she wouldn’t have the guts to ever wear them herself.
What if someone recognized her? It would be awful.
“Wear a mask.”
“Eh?”
She was making the final touch-ups to Adrien’s newest cosplay when he said that. After a minute of incredulous staring, she scoffed and got back to work.
“I can’t just wear a mask with every cosplay, Adrien. It doesn’t work like that.”
“Maaaybe not, buuut…”
Uh oh, she didn’t like that.
Whenever her boyfriend made a drawl like that, he had a plan. Turning away to get her scissors, she turned back to find an image being held before her face. It looked like… well, Chat Noir was the outfit she was currently making or him, but there, standing next to the cartoon superhero was another character – a girl in red with black spots.
“You could cosplay with me. You’d make a purrfect Ladybug!”
“What? Hey! What did I saw about getting into character while I’m working?”
“Sorry, sorry!” he exclaimed, raising his hands defensively. “But look, Ladybug wears a mask. No one would know it’s you and it’s a couple cosplay. You always wanted to try something new for one of our dates.”
“Erk… I guess I did say something like that…”
But she wasn’t sure. Wouldn’t it be worse for her to go with her boyfriend? He was a model and child star by way of his parents’ genetics; everything about cosplaying came to him naturally. They’d started dating after he became a regular client years ago, bumping into each other by chance while she had been taking photos. For him, cosplaying was a way to go outside and be normal; somehow, few people recognized him as the Adrien Agreste, but between so many wigs and contact lenses, she could understand why.
Still didn’t help her understand how a mask would cover her up. Ugh, she’d look like such a newbie next to him, but he was smiling and thinking otherwise.
“Just try it… One day, this coming convention. If you’re super uncomfortable, we’ll come back and you can change.”
“… Was that a pun?”
“It was not intentional…” He clasped his hands together. “Pleeease, Mari? My Princess? My Lady Love?”
“Will you stop with the pet names if I do?”
His eyes grew wider and for a moment, she could’ve sworn the belt-tail on his costume was wagging; nope, just his butt. Dang her stupid adorable boyfriend…
