WE’RE TALKING ABOUT MIRAGE NOW

I consider him a Ghost OC but he is barely anything Ghost related.

Mirage/M1R4G3 was a professional risk taker in the 1960s/1970s. He was really good at winning it all. One of his favourite casinos to frequent was the Black Cat Blackjack (BCBJ), which was actually run by a local mafia. He went on an absolutely horrid losing streak, and was coerced into playing Russian Roulette. Unsurprisingly, he died in 1978. He was burning in the pits of Hell for 10 years. (As a sinner, he is not a ghoul.)

here’s where Ghost gets involved :D

Meanwhile, the Ministry decided to install this strange dealer-bot because let’s introduce gambling to the ghouls or whatever! A group of Siblings fucked around and did some weird ritual which pulled a sinner from Hell and forced them to inhabit the nearest vessel. That sinner being Mirage, and that nearest vessel being the bot. Nothing appeared to have happened for 20 years, and the bot operated as usual. Eventually they got bored of the thing and shoved it in one of the many attics (2008). It took 16 years for Mirage to gain control of the machine, still abandoned in the attic (2024).

That is, until someone finally checks up there.

Other notes:

His past is incredibly blurry to him. He could tell you how he died and how much he loved to gamble. But his name eludes him, as does his face. There’s a lot he cannot recall.

He knows for sure Mirage was not his past name.

Can both play and deal. It is natural to him to play dealer now.

The dealer-bot system can take over if Mirage wanted it to, but he much prefers for it not to. It’s a scary experience of his mind getting essentially hijacked

NO LEGS FOR YOU he is attached to the table.

You can plug stuff into him to give him internet access/cable. He is able to stay in control in this process :D

Gets anxious around guns for obvious reasons

Mirage has a tail. It’s one of those plugs that act as a tail. When the dealer-bot was operating the body, unplugging it meant turning it off. But now with Mirage in control, his soul powers it so the tail can be unplugged.

Cannot feel external temperature.

i think my favourite part about writing Mirage’s backstory is that he didn’t get the glory of getting to last two standing. he died right before that.
