what makes miraz such a good villain is that he believes in the old magic, if begrudgingly. he recognizes that it is a threat by censoring its discussion, and immediately acts to crush the threat when caspian summons the pevensies back because he knows it’s COSMICALLY over for him if he doesn’t win
