In Dragonsong, she’s a prickly but kind and devoted healer, and Menolly’s first friend her age.

In dragondrums, she’s annoying and obnoxious, and other characters keep commenting on how she’d be cute if she wasn’t like that. But menolly convinces everyone else that she’s really good deep down, and she also is a woman with a FIGHTING DRAGON, which causes conflict.

In The White Dragon, she is obnoxious, whiny, bigoted, and throws a hissy fit whenever she isn’t given attention.

WHY DID THEY DO THIS TO MY GIRL??? I WANT A WHOLE SERIES ABOUT HER DEFYING THE ODDS IN A MALE DOMINATED FIELD, BEING INSPIRED AND CHEERED ON BY MENOLLY

Since it’s Fanwalker Friday I thought I’d do one of those summoner’s spellbooks I’ve seen other people doing for the fanwalker I showed last week, Mirrim! Her focus here is Faeries, Mirrors, and pranks! Mostly from Ravnica and Lorwyn since a) she hasn’t traveled to a ton of places and b) faeries just aren’t on many planes. Also 1 (ONE) custom card from her home plane! I’ve scrapped the concept of that set but i wanted something from where she’s from!

Between the teaser for Throne of Eldraine and it being friday, I’m using this as an excuse to show my Faerie fanwalker. Mirrim is a faerie who loves playing pranks and stealing people’s reflections. She also can use those reflections to get up to an assortment of mischief ranging from creating a copy of the person to controlling the person whose reflection she stole, depending on what she wants to do and the defenses of the victim. Her power suite also includes dispelling copies made by other people.

My initial concept for her came from an idea for a plane where a world and its reflection world were in conflict and mirrors acted as gateways between the two realms. In this idea Mirrim acts somewhat as a hero as her mirror related powers allow her to find invading reflections, destroy/banish them back to the mirror realm. Her spark ignites after she nearly sacrifices herself in a massive spell that separates the mirror realm from her world so that mirrors are no longer gateways between the two, ending the crisis. It isn’t this near fatal act itself that causes her spark to ignite, but the praise from everyone heralding her as a hero. Before they’d all at best thought her a prankster nuisance and at worst hated her for her dark magic. The surprise and pride she felt suddenly being loved and cheered for caused her spark to whisk her to Lorwyn where she joined Oona’s faeries and rose to become one of her elites.
