Ryuk, Misa, Chief Yagami, and Mastuda. (I know I spelled his name wrong)
HowI feel about this character:Ryuk’shilariously apathetic about the worldwide chaos he causes for thesake of some easy entertainment, and I love him endlessly for that!He’s very honest about his motives and his own ignorance about a lotof important stuff, and he can easily range from goofy and sheepishto scary and powerful at the drop of a hat. I think he’s so much moreinteresting than some sort of evil devil character that wants tomaliciously tempt Light into using the DN, or one that gives a crapabout humanity and chooses Light specially for godhood. You justgotta watch the Netflix movie to see how much that shifting of hismotives would weaken his character!
People I ship them with romantically:Nobody! The only true romance I want to see in Ryuk’s life is Ryuk xEntertainment, or maybe Ryuk x Apples.
My non-romantic OTP for them:I love his weird friendship with Light a lot. It’s definitely themost honest relationship Light ever has in his life. Prettysad when you think about how it ends!
My unpopular opinion about this character:He didn’t really look that cool in any of the movie adaptations. Iguess I just don’t like CGI Ryuk very much!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with thischaracter in canon:I wish Light had played Mario Kart with him more, what a stick in the mud that guy was sometimes!
HowI feel about this character:Ithink she’s the best developed, most interesting female character inthe series! She’s smart and crafty and funny and hard-working and hasa very positive vibe, she’s just very foolish and extreme in her romantic decisions. Ialso think she’s a lot cuter in the manga than the anime. I wish shewasn’t introduced to the story to basically interrupt the Lawlightfun, because that makes her seem more annoying than she actually is.I feel sorry for her a lot of the time, and I wish she’d gotten sometherapy instead of deciding dedicating her life to Kira was theanswer to all her problems!
People I ship them with romantically:I don’t really ship Misa a whole lot, but I kinda like the ideaof her and L and Light having a weird threesome sometime during theYotsuba arc lols, and also her and Takada having a torridhate-romance/rivalry behind Light’s back, and ohhh actually I thinkher and Mogi would be the sweetest most wholesome thing! Mogi is sodoting and protective when he’s her manager and they have such afunny size/personality difference, and it is actually so cute.
My non-romantic OTP for them:Rem! Rem is so sweet to Misa. I kinda wish Misa had been alittle sweeter in return.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with thischaracter in canon:I wish she’d waited a bit longer before jumping into the mix, becausethe tension between L and Light was just starting to ramp up good, and thenit was like BAM! second Kira is here…. and I was like ughhhh, you’re killing me Ohba just let us have some uninterrupted fun for once, pls

My unpopular opinion about this character:He’s possibly a little too willing to blindly follow L’s lead,and do the crazy stuff L suggests, like pretend to shoot Light in the face? I feel bad for Yotsuba arc Light because he genuinely believes he’s innocent and that’s gotta be so traumatic, but Idon’t know… I also kinda like how much Soichiro trusts L compared to therest of the task force, considering his son is the main suspect, andL is actually right about Light being Kira all along. Hmmm I’m not really sure about thisone, I suppose!

HowI feel about this character:Anextremely welcome ray of sunshine and sincerity and enthusiasm with arefreshing willingness to question all the shit that his coworkersrigidly adhere to, and often bully him for sometimes doubting ormisunderstanding!
People I ship them with romantically:Light kinda (like in a funny/shitty sorta way where Light isbeing manipulative and seduces him for kicks), I think Sayu andMatsuda could potentially be cute together if she were a bit olderand he was less awkward about it, uhhh don’t really know about anyoneelse!
My non-romantic OTP for them:I love his funny friendship with Ide in the successor arc wherehe gets to act all worldly and boss Ide around and constantly try to teach himabout romance!
My unpopular opinion about this character:I love him, but he’s definitely not just an innocent angel! It’smuch more apparent in the manga than the anime, but by the secondhalf of the series he’s often just a pervy voyeur having way too muchfun watching Light cheat on Misa, haha. He’s a bit of a self-centered, immaturelittle shit at times.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with thischaracter in canon:I don’t have too many things I’d do differently in the canon with Matsuda!I’m so glad he made it to the end, and that he was the one whoput a few bullets in Light. It was poetic, considering hewas the one who most supported Kira and loved the Yagamis and trustedLight to the end, and had been kind of seen as a bumbling idiot a lot of the time.
