An Excessively White Christmas
A festive poem half by me and here are the words, if you would like to recite this to your friends and family (warning: vid has swears):
While shepherds watch their flocks by night
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
Give ye heed to what we say
Bring me flesh and bring me wine
We won't go until we get some.”
Then to the watchful shepherds it was told
Who heard the angelic herald's voice: "Behold!!
In cloud, and majesty and awe,
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Veiled in flesh… the Godhead.”
(Shepherds quake at the sight,
Ding dong merrily on high.)
Saints before the altar bending
The lights are turned way down low
“Don we now our gay apparel,
Born to raise the sons of earth
Much pleasure thou can'st give me!”
And hear the angels sing:
“Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing
How richly God has decked thee!
Cast out our sin and enter in
And open wide our heavenly home;
Glorious now behold Him arise
How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
you would even say it glows.)
