𑁍 Hello misceverse community, I just want to share my shower routine, bc I really do think the key to actually smelling like your scent is knowing how to layer your scents, and good hygiene, and I always want to promote good hygiene (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠) 𑁍

𑁍 I would also like to note that this is NAWT the hygiene Olympics, so bashing myself or other people will earn yourself a block, however, you are free to share what works for you 𑁍

Get in !

Shampoo and conditioner

While allowing S&C to soak in your hair, wash up with your soap of choice. 1 that's scentless and antibacterial (if you can find an antibacterial soap in your scent, even better, otherwise, scentless is fine !) and another used for your primary scent and/or moisturization

Any other fixins

Brush through hair

Wash out shampoo and conditioner

Get out

Notes: I don't shave so don't ask me about that, never prioritize scent over healthy hair

‧₊˚✿ Outside the shower ✿˚₊‧

Air dry if you can

While still a little damp, scented moisturizer

If there's still a little dirt under your nails after your shower, take some handsoap and a q-tip or a cotton ball and get ! In ! There !

Any hair care (curl cream, leave in conditioner, rose water, ect)

Get your good moisturizer out, go over any place you get really ashy (or dry)

Dusting powder in any place that's taking forever to dry or that you sweat in a lot, you want the powder to prevent the moisture from building up

Deodorant

Body spray (and glitter if you put that on) make sure to spray it in your hair too if your shampoo and conditioner isn't in your scent

Get dressed

Perfume/cologne

Notes: not all of us have the same lifestyle, make sure to put love and care into places that build up a lot of grime ! For example, I wear headphones everyday for hours at a time, so I take extra care to clean in and around my ears !

𑁍 Now, obvs, you don't have to do this whole routine every time you shower, but I recommend going through the whole thing when you're going to be somewhere hot or crowded 𑁍

i wonder if anyone else experiences mating as like . . something separate from what usually is relationships . like , idk . to me , it is more special ? i suppose . it is different from just loving someone romantically or feeling qp attraction to someone . it's layered for me ? with various layers of like alteraffectis , miscebond , and nichelink attraction . . it means more to me . it holds a different weight of words . but words are important to me so it may just be a me thing .

Beta Behaviour in Misceanimalis/Misceverse

As many others I have noticed that Betas tend to get ignored in this community, and are just labelled as “normal” or essentially dynamic-less or at best as neutral soothers. If you identify this way all power to you, however I have decided to establish my own headcanon of behaviour that personally resonates for the Betas in our system, and seemingly another Beta outside of it. If this resonates for you too, I would love to know. :) I hope this brings you joy and affirms your identity.

General Temperament

Like the current understanding, I also believe there is a level of cool-headedness and deep focus to be at the core of a Beta’s instincts. However one of the most important aspects about Betas in terms of pack dynamics is their desire to establish wider territory. Alphas and Omegas have been established in the past as homemakers, homebodies that stay indoors and den and nest and create one safe haven. However I believe that Betas are very different in that they crave going outdoors and being aware of who is in their surroundings and the territory that they have set in their mind. Betas are prone to cabin fever levels of annoyance at being indoors but doing things like opening windows can improve their overall mood.

What Betas do instead of Nesting or Denning

Typically Betas do not nest or den but instead do an activity known as “Sprucing” where they will go into established pack homes (or their own if they do not have a pack) and adjust things. Unlike Omegas whose main goal in nesting is comfort and Alphas whose main priority is security when denning, Beta sprucing behaviour is based around ease of access and maintaining order amongst the chaos.

Sensory Seeking Behaviour and Beta Senses

Betas in general crave a specific type of contact known as deep pressure, and have particular parts on their body which are more sensitive to this contact or that they like to be squished. In one specific spot it can help a Beta get into headspace and it is similar to scruffing but not quite as scruffing is about going loose and unaware. However Beta headspace is focused in and is cool and calm. Betas love weighted blankets and any sort of soft weighted object with which they can comfort themselves with. A Beta's sense of smell is not as strong but they are more sensitive visually and hearing wise, which aids them with their outside and wider territory protection and maintenance instincts.

Beta to Beta Interactions

Betas are great together and often tend to go in groups. While it is unusual to see a pack formed purely of one dynamic, it is possible for Betas to form a cohesive pack. One of the most important behaviours that Betas do with each other is called linking where Betas will get in a very tight hug with each other so every body part is touching. They will then gently squeeze each other and hum to each other to express their joy. It is a social taboo to separate Betas during this time as they are both vulnerable and protective of each other. Betas also enjoy holding parts of other’s body parts in their mouth such as an arm, a hand or a finger and lightly bite down. It helps them feel secure and is a soothing behaviour. This is not Beta to Beta exclusive but is often performed with other Betas.

Beta Cycle

Betas experience a cycle commonly known as Ardor that lasts anywhere from three days to a week. During this time they feel cold, need extra pressure and feel contained by being inside. They don't like to be inside and they need to patrol their territory for a long time which can lead to exhaustion and fatigue so often their pack need to help them (usually other Betas walking with them) or help them warm up with a nice warm bath or letting them organise things and giving those deep pressure hugs and lots of linking. Their behaviour during this time is restless and they are very distressed if unable to confirm the safety of the territory. At the end of Ardor once a Beta is satisfied truly with their territory they will attempt to find a partner to be with. However the majority of Ardor is non-sexual and is instead focused on the safety of the group. Some Betas do not feel the sexual urges at all.

After I posted the official miscecanis flag way back in the day (you can see it here), and then subsequently the main dynamics ones (right here there's all flag links), I think that I need to re-do them all because they look not the greatest. So here's my offer to you dynamifluid miscefolk. I think maybe I'd come up with other ones for things such as "a-dynamic" or "non-trinary???", but if you like this flag and feel like using it, go ahead.

✦​White: Represents enlightenment and breakthrough. This is the moment a person finds the self-knowledge and self-love to live as their true self. It also symbolizes the liminal space between different Dynamics.

✦​Orange: Signifies self-expression and freedom. This color represents blossoming potential, beauty, and the act of breaking free from the status quo.

✦​Terracotta: Embodies inner strength, confidence, and euphoria. This color represents the pure joy and self-actualization that comes from living authentically.

✦​The Circle: Symbolizes the cyclical nature and fluidity of their gender expression and identity.

✦​The Two Moons: These mirrored moons represent the unchanging core of the person despite their shifting expressions. They form a yin-yang shape, symbolizing inner balance and peace.

✦​The Four Pointed Star: A classic misce symbol that represents the misceperson as the central, constant core of themselves, independent of any external presentation. It highlights that they are a "crescent-born star" like any other misceperson, a being who shines brightly regardless of the phase they are in.

morning routine as a miscecanis / misceanimalis !

✦ i wake up around 7 - 9 , depending on when i went to sleep the previous night. firstly , i take a few minutes to assess how i’m feeling in the morning , in terms of dynamics and such.

✦ whatever dynamic i am feeling , as i fluctuate between the main 3 , helps me to determine how i will dress and my scent choice, and the intensity of said scent. i’d say it also goes hand-in-hand (or paw-in-paw) with my pangenderfluidity :)

✦ in terms of hygiene , i tend to shower every other day and brush twice a day. when i do shower , i make sure to use scent layering , such as similar scented body washes , lotions , deodorants , and lastly perfumes. it helps to capture my signature scent(s).

✦ after showering / bathing and layering my scent, i look at my clothing options. i notice i tend to dress more masculine or “robust” as an alpha , neutral as a beta , and feminine or “softly” as an omega , though it is not limited to those. there will be some days where i dress feminine as an alpha , or masculine as a beta , things like that. it is basically randomized each day.

✦ once i have picked an outfit , i put on extra perfume / cologne on important scent gland areas ! it helps to immerse me in my misce lifestyle :]

and i would say that’s about it ! i think that personal routines can be very helpful for misceverse folks , but i don’t believe it is required whatsoever . i just wanted to share my personal routine ^^
