Angels are it/its. You can humanize them to yourself, some of them might even want to use the human pronouns, and you can if you want. But don’t forget they’re not people. They’re pets. It/its teaches them who they are

Feeling very guilty that everything I find physically attractive in the trans masc I have a crush on is something that makes them dysphoric
Patiently waiting for anon to make another account to send some shitty ask from that I can just block when literally all I do these days is scroll my feed eating oatmeal & reblogging pride shit 🏳️🌈
So!!much!!drama!!
I'm a little curious about your BFY, you say that people should not follow you if they can't respect nb pronouns, which yeah, absolutely... but then you also refuse to respect peoples pronouns simply because they happen to use it/it's pronouns which is you failing to respect pronouns meaning YOU are misgendering them and using incorrect pronouns and discriminating against people based on their pronouns. Kinda hypocritical there...
I’m not saying I do not respect the person using them, I honestly do respect them as a person and what pronouns they use: but it/its really up until recently ONLY have been used to misgender trans and nb folk. That’s why I’m VERY uneasy with it/its pronouns. I have only ever seen it pronouns being used online, in any LGBT support group I’ve been to, I haven’t met anyone using it/its in person.
I realized what I wrote was really rude, so I changed it to be more respectful of people using it/its, I’m very sorry if I offended you, if you want to come off anon and talk to me about this I’m totally up to listen to your side, and probably would learn a lot more from it.
Thank you for the call out post though anon, this was informative and I think I learned a lot from being called out and having to think about it.
One of the thing I really don't like about the Linda Thompson article is that it calls him "trailblazer for the civil rights of the transgender community". Like no. So many people have been blazing that trails for years. They (not sure what pronoun is appropriate) are not the first semi-famous person to do this.
oh absolutely.
we have a history of devaluing, delegitimizing, rewriting, and erasing the contributions of twoc, not only when it comes to liberation for trans people, but also for the “LGBTQ community.” Marsha P. Johnson did this work; Sylvia Rivera did this work; Laverne Cox and Janet Mock have been doing this work; and everyday trans people, especially the woc, have been doing this work just by existing and living our lives and having conversations with our friends, family, neighbors and communities.
and honestly, i don’t want jenner as a spokesperson of any kind. the interview is cringe-worthy from start to finish; i’m happy they’re finding who they are and starting to live openly and honestly but the rhetoric they used was damaging to other trans women. saying “i’m heterosexual,” “i’m exclusively attracted to women” and “i am a woman” all at the same time delegitimizes trans lesbians’ identities especially. idk. jenner talked a lot about being trans as being “this problem” and said stuff about having “male parts” and i think really tried to push the narrative away from the “born a man who wants to become a woman because he’s trapped in the wrong body” trope, but imo it fell flat in almost every aspect.
so now all this terrible representation and piss-poor education is in the spotlight, leaving the rest of us to clean up the mess and correct all the mistakes. not to mention the fact that this got a 90 minute interview/documentary but i’ll be damned if i heard a single name of any of the trans women (mostly of color) who were murdered at the beginning of this year. if diane sawyer or abc actually gave a shit about civil rights for trans folks, they should have done a documentary on them
Just came back home of a birthday party where the same aunt called me lesbian three times bc i have short hair and shaved one side of my head. Like, what the hair says about the person? Let them be. Besides, if i liked who considered themselves girls, i would be straight. How many times i have to say? Im a boy. Get the fuck off. Let me alone.
so I go into orientation for work today, and someone messes up my pronouns. no big, I gently correct and try to move on.
coworker: he?
me: yeah, he/him/his please.
coworker: *laughs* you're going to confuse a lot of people.
yeah. thanks. I already do.
