Hi, I'm Victoria. I'm a black, disabled, trans woman in my mid thirties and I have an aortic aneurysm, valve damage, and partial enlargement of my heart, among other complications.
I have spent the last 6 months seeing specialists and being tested, all while fighting my insurance for every appointment. I have had appointments delayed on multiple occassions because of insurance approvals, including my second CT, which would be a major factor in when I have surgery.
My partner, Sam, has taken off numerous days of work to helpe me out or care for me on bad days and it's resulted in us needing financial help.
I've applied for disability as well as SSI, but both of them are now at nearly a year for a decision. I will likely have to appeal after the first denial whenever it comes.
If you can help us in any way it would be massively appreciated, even just sharing this post.

My name is Victoria, I'm a black, disabled trans woman in my mid thirties, and my heart is failing. I am going through an aortic aneurysm, possible valve damage, as well as partial enlargement of my heart among some other complications. I have months of testing to go while they figure out a safe treatment option with as few complications as possible, but eventually I'll be having heart surgery.
During this time I'm not allowed to do anything physically strenuous, which makes it essentially impossible for me to work.
I've applied for disability, but it is going to take months for them to even make a decision, let alone approve it. (Which is most likely not to happen the first application.)
Thank you to everyone who has shared these posts and donated, I can't express how much it means to me and my partner.

Had an echocardiogram on the 26th of September. Results confirm that the aortic valve is damaged and my aorta has expanded to be 5.3cm (normally 2.2 to 3.8cm depending). I don't have a timeline for surgery, I'll be speaking to a specialist at the end of this month, but it's looking like it's going to be sooner rather than later.
My husband is going to be missing quite a bit of work over the next couple months, anything helps.

A couple weeks ago I ended up on the ER. In the initial testing, they did a CT scan, and it revealed I have issues with my heart that were completely unrelated to the symptoms I went in for. The combination of those issues, even with as little testing as they've done so far, is frankly pretty bad.
Instead of a funding an out-of-state move, this will help us find and maintain a place in the Seattle area so I can still easily see my specialist and other doctors I'll be seeing for my conditions. It would also give a financial cushion for my partner to help me with doctor's appointments and recovery, which he’ll have to take time off work to do.
I have now spoken to the specialist and to say things are "not great" would be accurate. Surgery isn't happening right now but I am going under regular observation for the next 6 months with multiple rounds of testing before they decide.
Now that I've talked to the surgeon about it, I can say everything that's wrong properly. My heart is failing. I have had an aortic aneurysm, on top of other conditions compounding into a major problem. The other conditions are near-constant tachycardia, even when resting; as well as the left chamber of my heart being thickened and taking longer to charge up than the right side between beats.
The aneurysm has also weakened my aortic valve, which is allowing blood to flow back into my heart. All 3 of those things combined are raising my blood pressure dangerously and putting more pressure on the aneurysm itself.
Basically, I need to constantly monitor my blood pressure and heart rate and keep them as low as I can so prevent the aneurysm from rupturing. If it does, I have a 50/50 chance of living long enough to get to an emergency OR and a fairly low chance of living if I DO make it there.
I'm going to be in and out of the hospital a lot over the next 6 months while they do a bunch of testing and decide if I need surgery now or later, but as the surgeon I just talked to said "Surgery is inevitable, it's just a matter of how long can we make it without."
Before, I was looking for work, but right now I can’t. I'm working on applying for disability again, but that's a long process I've already been denied twice for. They may approve me after more testing, combined with my already existing disability from my hit and run in 2019, but that's unknown given the current political climate surrounding disability funding. Until then, we are relying on one income, and it's not enough to keep us afloat for long.
Thanks for your generosity—we need all the help we can get.

After 6 years, my partner and I think it's finally time to move on from Seattle. We love the city, but it's just gotten too expensive to stay here. Food costs have skyrocketed in the last couple years, rent is higher and higher, even the bus fare went up last year. Without our support system nearby, being disabled and living in Seattle has become untenable and we need to leave.
We're planning to move to a city in Colorado; we'll be near our other partner, and the cost of living is much lower than Seattle. We'll have a more secure community and safety net. However, we're struggling just to keep up with the expenses we have as-is, and need help relocating.
We cannot save to do this, and other than our clothes and essentials, we're going to have to completely start over. Neither of us can drive, and paying movers to drive from Seattle to the new city is over 5 figures ($11,000 on average from the quotes we've gotten), before everything else. We're going to have to rebuy anything that we can't pack into bags. (We will be shipping our computers, because the cost to replace those is far too high).
We're estimating travel costs based on train tickets $650 (about $450 depending on timing with another $200 for food expenses while on the train) as neither of us want to fly or deal with airport security. We'll need to stock the kitchen ($600), and buy new furniture ($2500). We'll need enough for a security deposit ($1000-$1500 depending) and at least one month's rent (another $1000-$2500) as well as at least a second month's rent as a cushion in case one of us takes longer to find work.
We're setting our goal at $15,000 so that if anything goes sideways, we're safe and can get back on our feet without having to ask again. Our current accommodations last until September, so we’re setting the goal for August.
Thank you in advance to everyone who shares and donates—we can’t do this without your help.
These are my friends Sam and V’s. A bunch of you helped them out before, and I’d really appreciate it if you could help them again—by getting eyes on their campaign, spreading the link, donating $5—whichever. Seattle has definitely gotten West Coast Expensive (lol. lmao.) and their local support network has mostly moved onto other things.
You can also share their gfm on bluesky and on twitter.
They’re trying to hit goal by August! It’s doable! They didn’t mention it, but they also have a ko-fi shop that you can check out here, iff’n you wanna exchange goods for money. They also have a Twitch stream at Channel47TV.
Supporting trans lives means giving them flowers while they’re here. Or helping them move lol 😅 thank you in advance! 🩷🤍🩵

Hi. We're V's and Sam (I'm Sam, writing this). If you know us, you know we've been working hard to try to find an affordable place to live. The building we currently live in was great at first, but the former management company drastically stepped back from their duties after the first year and allowed it to fall into disrepair, even while raising our rent 20%. The property is income-restricted, and they are demanding more of my wages than we can afford. It's been hard to keep any bills paid due to the increased costs, and there are constant issues with fire alarms being pulled and going off for hours at a time, a recent month where the main door to the building was broken and unable to be opened from the outside, and refusal of maintenance orders. (We have 2 broken light fixtures in our apartment, one of which has had a pending order for over a year.)
I work from home, and over the last few weeks have lost significant wages due to the apartment above us catching fire and the resulting counter measures flooding our apartment. The maintenance people assigned to us have been entering our home without notice and have demanded we run a dehumidifier (which pumps out heat) 10-12hr per day during a heat wave. My mental and physical health has been compromised, as has my ability to work from home without interruption. We are running out of money to support ourselves and we're unable to get public assistance due to shortage of resources.
We have found a place that is drastically cheaper than our current one that we're just waiting to hear back from the landlord about the other applicants before we can move in on the 1st of August. We need roughly $2000 to move in between first month's rent, deposit, and other fees. My income right now is being used just trying to keep a roof over our heads, let alone pay bills or eat proper meals.
Please, if you have anything to spare safely, we would sincerely appreciate it. Getting out of this apartment will allow us to build up our funds and sustain ourselves without the constant environmental challenges. Thank you for your consideration.

I'm deeply ashamed of having to write this post. But we need help.
Over the last month, my mental health declined rapidly. I've been actively seeking treatment, but seeing the right doctors and getting to the actual treatment process is a slow endeavor. I got a new diagnosis, but it's still "x with unclear y", so we're still not sure what it's going to look like going forward.
Last week, the pharmacy I usually go to replaced one of my insulins without telling me, and argued with me when I tried to ask questions. I won't be going there anymore, but it's still scary knowing they would lie to me when my medication wasn't available, or if they made a mistake. This has been a considerable stressor.
Our apartment complex used to offer payment plans for missed rent payments. They are no longer doing this and did not alert us. So they are demanding payment or we get evicted.
I missed nearly two weeks of work because my brain and body are trying to destroy me. But I'm not going to let it happen quietly.
Please help us keep our home and have enough money to eat. We're two disabled adults fighting our hardest to get to safety, and your support would mean the world to us. I have over 40 handmade plushies and dolls available in our shop (https://ko-fi.com/channel47tv/shop) and buying one gets us closer to our goal. Each one represents the love and passion I put into my work, and they are built to last. We would prefer to provide something in exchange for your help, but if you'd like to donate, we have the following options as well:
Cash: $recurringvs
Paypal: https://paypal.me/recurringvs
