Y’all made Disney villains out of them. Stripped them from being human, tossed their nuance to the side and boiled them down to a 2D character.

Y’all also make Disney heroes. Like Bernie the populist. Even trump was a hero dove coming to “fix DC”. He had to do insurrection before y’all finally gave up on the pivot.

And why? Why are y’all so drawn to stories. And the answer is, y’all been told stories all your life. That the founding fathers were heroes, that you won wars you never won, that FDR was an ideal president.

On the other hand black people grew up having to learn that the founding fathers had slaves, that FDR was racist AF and left black people out of the new deal and sent Jewish people back to Germany. We have to learn the whole picture for survival.

And y’all tell stories about us, (stories that falsely depict us) looting during Katrina, while y’all were finding things. We're (called) lazy, criminals, weed smoking, on welfare and y’all are hard working and the government is just not giving you the help you need. (Or getting out of your way)

You tell yourselves a narrative, while we have to dig for the truth for our survival. We are able to see humanity through the story, because y’all constantly steal ours and we know that’s what y’all do.

Allies who have done the work simply stopped listening to the Disney story told by and for whiteness and started to see the situation in 3D. They saw that the founding fathers did great things, but also raped slaves.

Allies can see systemic racism and hundreds of years of laws that have hurt and oppressed minorities. White people who get upset about this truth are still believing the Disney narrative of whiteness being good."

I think the hardest thing about being a black woman or black femme and being vocal about your right to be respected, and to hold people who are racist accountable, you’re always going to be dubbed as “too much”. 

I think it’s safe to say that the entire globe has gaslit black women and femmes into how we perceive our experiences. I don’t even think our conversations about misogynoir have space in the world unless without being met with speculation and silencing.

And it always ties back to us being second to black men. Like the purpose of self-work and healing is only for us to somehow help and uplift black men, and if people are focusing too much on us, then they’re doing it wrong. 

You can care about black women and femmes a little bit. But remember, black men are the most important.

it's fucking insidious because it implies that the only thing that made that male character worthy of being a main character/love/redemption/ etc was the fact that HE IS A MAN because his female version is either totally devoid of personality and agency or a completely psychopathic bitch undeserving of audience sympathy or redemption.

I just *cringe* at the entitlement men are socialized to have over acesss to women, our minds and bodies. That they think just because they personally consider themselves a nice guy, they automatically deserve someone they’re very much so attracted to, despite the woman’s contradictory feelings about it. That if they feel like a woman is into them, even with no direct confirmation, that they’re entitled to us “finishing what we started,” even if we didn’t have any romantic intentions or later changed our minds about those intentions. That if a woman is making them angry or sad, they’re entitled to treating us any kind of harsh way for daring to emotionally provoke them, whether that provoking is completely uncalled for or not.
