but yeah, thats the worst D: i was lucky enough to have my first experience be with a group of irl coworkers i was already pretty good pals with, and my current online session is also with a group of close friends. That first DM I had was challenging but not malevolent, which is, I think, the way that a DM should be. I dont think the goal should ever be to actively try to kill your party.... That just kinda makes it more stressful than it needs to be imo, D&D should be fun!
