hey! i have misophonia as well and the last 3 therapists i've gone to have had no idea what it is or how to treat it, so i was wondering if you know of any specific medications that can help?

I’m currently on a 250mg(very high) dose of Sertraline. It’s an anxiety medication. It doesn’t take away all of my symptoms, but it severely weakens them. Don’t start at 250mg if you can get this medicine, its a high dose thats tailored to my needs. I hope this helps. also look into other anxiety medications, and give a serious go at mindfulness coping mechanisms. They can help sometimes.

After 3+ weeks of withdrawal I finally got my medicine! :D

Alright, I’m making progress according to my audiologist - and I’ve not ranted on tumblr for a while so I believe her - but I am going to go ahead and ruin my non-ranting streak this evening by saying that people who suck their teeth and don’t care about how disgusting they’re being can get fucked with a gigantic spike.
