To the people who say this type of shit unironically:

Just a reminder that when you say "we should kill all men, both cis and trans", you are also advocating killing all the trans women who stay in the closet for their own safety.

When you say "all trans girls should be taken to given hormones so they can be the girly girls they are ment to be" you are not only fetishizing being a trans woman but also disrespecting butches and transfems who can't medically transition either because they rely on transphobic family or have medical issues that make medical transition dangerous, as well as transfems who just don't want to.

When you say "we need to protect all trans girls from evil masculine folks" you are also demonizing women who are naturally more masculine including transfems who don't want to or can't pass intersex people, people with hormone disorders, people who are muscular because they work out or work physically demanding jobs, and people who are are seen as masculine just because of their race.

When you say "women are the only ones who need shelter for safety from abuse" not only are you hurting transmascs who need a safe place and forcibly misgendering trans men and people who don't fit in the gender binary, but you are saying that all women are weak and helpless as well as allowing women to abuse others without consequences since apparently "women can't be abusive" and opening the door for shelters to deny transfems too.

(not trying to derail from this blog. Just trying trying to make the point that anti-masculinity hurts EVERYONE just as trans-misogyny does, and that saying and sticking to these things is not only shooting yourself in the foot but also burning down the community you need)

This is anti-masculinity intersecting with transgynephobia, intermisogyny, and misogynoir.

Its not derailing, it's just pointing out how women who are socially imposed as male, societally masculinized, or who present masculinely suffer from anti-masculine rhetoric just as much as men do.

(Note 1: Please do not call androgenization being "naturally more masculine." Masculinity =/= androgenization. Same for having higher muscle mass, please don't call that "naturally more masculine."

The phrasing "enforced as masculine" would have been better.

Note 2: Please do not call hormonal variations "hormone disorders." That is intersexist.

im a black girl who is not personally queer. yes, not in the slightest. but whenever i state this i usually get hate by (usually white) queer people just because im not queer myself and therefore im "dangerous". they also associate my blackness with masculinity and act like im gonna attack them for it so yeah

people will literally say your gender or sexuality doesnt make you evil and then demonize conformant people for who they are. no friend im not gonna assault queer people just because im not one of them, ill be supportive to them and call out queerphobia as much as i can. but associating my blackness + conformant self with manhood and evilness is kinda fucked up dont you think

This is misogynoirism and anti-allyship.

Its disgusting how Black women are masculinized against their consent by association of race.

Non-black people take Blackness, treat it as inherently masculine (unless its a trait they deem "feminine" like lips, then they hyperfeminize + hypersexualize it), and that masculinization + peoples demonization of masculinity leads Blackness to be treated as inherently dangerous and evil.

It's horrible and I hate how often I see it.

honestly just as it can be harmful to force women into being ‘feminine’, it’s also harmful to force them into being ‘masculine’. a lot of women who are ‘masculinized’ are often told to that they must get rid of anything that is ‘feminine’ in favor of being ‘masculine’. and even when they do that, they are subjected to very similar pressures that men face (i.e. suppressing all of their emotions, having to take on more responsibilities even it if puts their life at risk) people think that it’s ‘girlboss’ to place the same pressure that men go through onto women (which is especially forced upon black women).

This is toxic masculinity and misogynoirism.

People seem to forget that toxic masculinity isn't just enforced upon men and people socially imposed as male, but also enforced upon women and people socially imposed as female who are masculinized.

Black people in general are highly masculinized (which is why the rate for black men being arrested is so high, because people deem them to be hypermasculine, and deem masculinity to be something dangerous), but the masculinization of black women leads to so many issues and harmful narratives, such as the "strong black woman" trope in media.

How insidious is colorism in media?

I was around 14 when I watched Clint Eastwood's True Crime, great movie by the way.

Isaiah Washington was playing the usual wrongly convicted black man, brilliantly so.

LisaGay Hamilton, wonderfully played, his resilient wife.

Their daughter was played by... Sydney Tamiia Poitier.
