I think a reason we don't see as many trans men in their late 20s early 30s is because of just how many transfems and trans women that are 35+ and have a job and a family and yet they hate on trans men who are literal teenagers and will ACTIVELY HARASS them and comment under every post they make calling them privileged and saying their oppression isnt real. that surely wont cause any teenager to kill themself

Transfems are not the majority of transandrophobes. Most transandrophobes are pericis binary, often fully nonqueer too. The amount of transandrophobic transfems that exist is a much smaller scale than is being misconstrued online.

A majority of transfems are very supportive of their transmasc comrades, and uplift them when given the chance.

Yes, transmascs are harassed into detransitioning and/or suicide, and made hyperinvisible. But please don't portray this as a "transfems are the primary reason" issue. There are transandrophobic transfems, but let's not attribute transandrophobia to transfemininity, when literally any gender demographic can be transandrophobic. Thanks.

I just had someone call me transphobic because I suspected an account who is transphobic isn't a real person due to being a troll, and said that since they're a troll that changed to their cis pronoun plus they AFTER being transphobic they probably aren't using those pronouns in good faith....... Like do these people not understand trolls are real and will just lie to you about their identity so that people like them will attack anyone who doesn't like the troll or?

I didn't even not use the pronoun in question, all I did was say I don't think they're telling us the truth due to BEING A TRANSPHOBE. Like, y'all transphobes are just inherently liars I don't believe a single WORD coming from them, not even their bio words. Its potentially all made up for the bit and I don't treat troll accounts the way I do real people. I've been around too long for that shit. I have seen TERFs do that kind of thing before and I'm tired of being tricked.

My parents say that trans women shouldn't participate in beauty pageants because it's not for them since they can't change their legal name, gender in our country :(

They are allowed to join but will be purposefully rated low since it's not for them

Trans people being in beauty pageants (or in any competitions, actually) harms literally nobody. They shouldn't have to change their name or legal gender to "belong" there - legal gender shouldn't exist in the first place. And competitions shouldn't be gendered, either.

the idea that you have to “prove” that you occupy a certain social position to use the label transfem (and yes, i never see this concept applied to transmasc individuals)

This is transgynephobia.

(I have seen it applied to transmascs and other non-masc & non-fem genders a few times, but its definitely far more targeted at transfems.)

I really hate the idea that trans men automatically pass easier than other trans people and that you don't have to work as hard as a trans man to pass. And to see other trans people and allies alike perpetuating this stereotype is ridiculous.

The idea of "passing" as a whole is transphobic, exorsexist, and varsexist honestly. But nobody is ready to let go of it.

Like no, actually, the fact that we assign pronouns and genders to certain appearances and behaviors isn't a good thing, actually.

The idea of "passing" others non-binary people, binary trans people at the start of their transitions or who cannot afford a transition, binary trans people who do not want a medical transition or whose transition is not "traditional", gender non-conforming and sex non-conforming people, intersex people with variations that give them a mix of sex traits, and intersex & disabled people whose variations/disabilities make them incapable of transition.

EDIT: Somehow, people are taking this as me denying the reality of how "passing" is a useful safety measure.

No? Firstly, I was saying that I am against the way that lot of transmeds use "passing" as a "are you really [insert gender here]" measure.

Secondly, I am aware that "passing" helps with safety and alleviates distress/disconnect and provides euphoria to a lot of TGD people. My point is that we should be destroying the *need* to "pass" in the first place.

If everyone in their everyday life stopped assuming the genders and pronouns of strangers, that would be a massive deal. Nobody would feel upset that their gender isn't immediately assumed correctly, because nobody's gender [PT: nobody's gender] would be assumed *at all*, the same way you don't assume someone's name.

I am encouraging people to stop applying gender and pronouns to appearance, and just start treating everyone individually.

I'm not calling the people who try their best to "pass" so that they can be gendered correctly and be safe bigoted. I'm calling the societal structure that has made that into a necessary thing bigoted.

anyways, in light of a certain horrifically ableist 'essay'; disabled transfems I love you so much. If you're a transfem who doesn't have the mental capacity, spoons, or energy to: get out of bed, work a job, be financially stable, do the dishes regularly, etc. I love you so, so much. Please don't let a shoddy ableist transmisogynistic excuse of a transfeminist essay make you feel like you're undeserving of love, compassion, understanding, community, and grace.
