Clink pinched her cheek with a big grin. “Let’s go, babydoll,” he chuckled, kissing the top of her head. He climbed into the driver’s seat and drove off, careful... but when he left Dex and Sprocket at the park so she could play, he drove nice and fast. He was going ridiculously quick, hollering out happily; he was completely reckless... and he only stopped when they got pulled over by an ornery robot policeman.
“Care to share how fast you were goin’?” He asked, brow cocked. Clink paled when he pulled out his phone. “You’re one of Miss Clem’s kids, yeah?”
“Am not!” Clink yelped. All the bots knew each other in this town—both humans and bots were a tight-knit community.
Miss Clem received a phone call... and when she opened the door an hour later, Clink was there, sullen and in handcuffs. Dex and Sprocket were also there, the policebot holding Sprocket gently. “Hey there, Miss C,” The bot—named Rivet—said with a gentle tip of his hat. The Spine and Rabbit were playing together quietly in a playpen.
