general thoughts on the discourse surrounding isff:

"pedophile" is a word that has more than one meaning. people use the word "pedophile" colloquially to describe offenders and non-offenders alike. there is no "correct" definition of pedophilia because it is a word that has multiple similar, but discrete meanings.

the distinction between "pedophile" and "person with pedophilic disorder" is not a useful one, because it relies on the assumption that pedophilia (and paraphilia more broadly) is a coherent medical diagnosis that exists independent of its sociocultural context, which is vapid. sexual desire is a product of your upbringing, environment, and lifestyle choices; it is not a biological fact.

pedophiles are adults, and all adults have power over children. furthermore, pedophiles have an incentive to abuse their power that other adults do not have. pedophilia is not the sole incentive for child sexual abuse, but it is frankly asinine to pretend that it isn't an incentive for abuse at all.

there is no such thing as a thought crime because there is no such thing as mind-reading. once you post it to your blog, especially if your blog is visible to children, you have officially turned your thought into an action that can cause material harm.

there are different levels of harm, certainly, and each level requires a different response. i don't think ISFF deserves to be killed or thrown in jail for the crime of being an idiot. but when you attempt to create a culture where people can proudly identify as pedophiles in full view of children, you deserve all the criticism you get.

I just want to clear up that I do believe in rehabiliation and treatment for pedophiles and that we should use it, studies shows it works. What I don't believe is that people proudly stating "I'm a pedophile" are willing to seek any help or care about hurting children.

I genuinely can’t think of a single reason why someone would insist their blog isn’t a kink blog and therefore safe for minors to interact with while simultaneously posting untagged kink other than said person being a predator. This isn’t a case of randos ganging up on a clearly marked and responsibly run kink blog that they find distasteful, hell, it isn’t even a case of people agonizing over a mistake that was corrected. This is specific, repeated, targeted behavior to involve non consenting people, including minors, in fetish content. Predatorjacketing is a real problem that impacts the transfem community but this is not that, this is someone who is actively and transparently attempting to build a space in which they have free reign to abuse children under the guise of “kink liberation” and “trans positivity.” As a kinky person, as a trans person, it is making me absolutely sick to watch this behavior get defended by people who should absolutely know better.
