if amber gray had a nickel for every time she was in multiple productions (5+ years, several countries) of an avant-garde original musical about two intertwining love stories, one immortal and bringing the heel of capitalism down cruelly on the other, new love story between a hopeful young man who sees the potential for a better world and a young woman suffering under her own cynicism and trapped in the soulless system built by the immortals, as told by a whimsical and snarky supernatural narrator and directed by rachel chavkin, she'd have two nickels.

Mission Drift is wild as hell. Like, oh my god. The music is really good but I have no idea what the heck is going on. But Amber Gray tho. One moment, she’s making weird faces and the next, someone is stepping on her with their boot??? Then she goes a little insane and knocks two characters out with her high heel, like damn...

Me at the start: I'll write a kink fanfic about Beckett Mariner. It'll have lots of vore and maybe some laughs. I won't even explain the vore mechanism. She just eats a Pakled because the replicators are down and she's really hungry.

Me a few chapters in: Okay, so maybe I should at least explain the vore mechanism somehow. I mean, lots of weird mutations happen in Star trek?

Me 24 chapters in: Mariner has to talk the optimistic, warm-hearted and bubbly Tendi out of torturing people to death.

Me 78 chapters later: What am I going to do with this ex-Dominion Jem'Hadar? I'm really struggling with the holodeck dating sim arc and it's been chapters since anything fetishy happened.

Me, now: I have written SO MUCH good Mariner dialogue in this fanfic, it's a shame that it will mostly only be read by the very small sub-group of people who are fans of Star Trek: Lower Decks and fans of vore.
