Ieri sera ho rivisto in tv un film bellissimo del 2006: Miss Potter diretto da Chris Noonan. Eccezionale @renee__zellweger_ nei panni della celebre illustratrice, così visionaria, sensibile, indipendente e anticonformista per i suoi tempi. Beatrix Potter per la sua vita e per la sua attività, per le sue caratteristiche di donna e di artista, meritava di essere conosciuta più a fondo. 9 Things I Wanna Do After Watching "Miss Potter"

(Nope. Not in any way related To the Boy Who Lived. "Miss Potter" is a biographical drama film about Beatrix Potter, English author of children's books.) 1. Dress like a stylish upper-middle-class London lady in her time (1866-1943). 2. Cultivate childlike curiosity and creativity, be interested in flora and fauna, and write all sorts of stories about them. 3. Pick up art materials and start (re)learning how to sketch and watercolor. I used to dabble in drawing but as I was so irregular in practice, my skills hardly improved. Even then, it shouldn't matter. It just has to be fun. And done. 4. Write and illustrate children's books and read them someday to my own kiddos. Being read by others is just a bonus. 5. Print my writings, bind them, and turn them into physical books. 6. Exchange letters with a wordsmith. My current beau is already one, so that's half a wish come true. The other half would be to experience delicately opening an envelope, pulling a parchment out, and blushing at a gentleman's genuine and passionate professions of love. 7. Ride a horse-drawn carriage and be leisurely toured around  wholesome parks. #DateIdeaNumber24 8. Earn comfortable, steady income so that should my ridiculously wealthy relations exist and disinherit me in opposition of my life choices, I can storm out of our mansion without hesitation and go live happily ever after with the man I married for love, not money. 9. By "comfortable income" I mean "enough to afford me owning and maintaining massive acres of land”. Like Miss Potter, I want to preserve and protect natural landscapes.
