Future child: How did the world begin?
You see, before there was anything, there was nothing. Or an almost-nothing, if you will. And in this almost-nothingness, the tiniest of things floated and floated and floated for what felt like forever. They grew so bored with just floating and floating and floating that one day, one of them came up with an idea: “Let’s do something for fun! Let’s create something out of ourselves. The group with the most beautiful formation wins!”
And so they did. These tiniest of things met with their zillion friends and thought of shapes to make, of things to be. They all wanted to win. Although there was no reward, they wanted to be the best. These tiny, tiny things squeezed and squeezed and squeezed together until they became what we know now: some groups became planets, some of them stars, some moons, comets, meteors, and everything out there. They could not be parted from each other. None tried anyway. They had long given up their independent motion and will in exchange for this oneness. For in this togetherness, they felt a strong sense of purpose. And bored they no longer are.
