Rydia and Mist Dragon for Magic The Gathering
Dragons of Greyhawk: Cloud Dragon, Greyhawk Dragon, Mist Dragon, and Shadow Dragon (Mark Nelson, AD&D 2e Monstrous Compendium 5: Greyhawk Adventures Appendix, TSR, 1990)
I have a really old fanart that it was not for the FFIV, but I really wanted to commemorate FFIV Anniversary so here is a little Rydia and her Mist Dragon!
Rydia, the queen that you are ✨✨✨
Happy Anniversaries to Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy X - FF4 turning 35 and FF10 turning 25 on the same day!! Both games were graphic pioneers at the time; FFIV was the first Final Fantasy for the Super Nintendo, meanwhile FFX was the first to be released for Playstation 2~ 60 years worth of Final Fantasy, so had to make something to celebrate - two Summoners enjoying a happy birthday picnic 🙏
DRAGON!!!!! I felt like doing something wisp-y :>
Okay, so my lineart tends to look super confusing before I start adding color to it- I tried to fix it a little by darkening the tips of the dragon's horns/scales, and by using a light line weight for the smoke. But ah, well.
Happy holidays all!
The Storybook Games Are Canon
So as we know the Official Sonic Timeline is incomplete as it is missing several games which we know are canon. A prime example of this is the storybook games. But how do we know they are canon?
Well in Sonic Generations Sonic references the events of Sonic And The Secret Rings is on reason.
The next reason is in the Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-Speed-Ia on page 213 under a factoid blurb with the title Everything Is Canon, it makes not of Sonic line about the Earth Dragon looking similar to the Biolizard. "Heh heh! This brings back memories, except last time I was with Shadow." Something to note is the everything is canon line in this book specifically is often used to clarify what is canon, and details about the canon. For example, with Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic CD.
Now I have come across the claim this blurb is trying to say Satam is canon to the games because it mentions Sonic facing 2 massive dragons, then it mentions Dulcy. But this overlooks what is actually said. The second dragon it is referring to is the Mist Dragon which has a coloration similar to Dulcy the Dragon from Satam. Which if you look, and especially compare it to the concept art it clearly is. This is also, possibly a nod to Satam by the creators Sonic And The Black Knight. Written by Eris the Lorekeeper
