It wasn't good, Yuyu knew that, however she couldn't let go of the corpse in the form of memories of her beloved onee-sama. Being a lily always meant that she needed to savour every moment she had with anyone, because when they put their feet on the battlefield, no life was guaranteed to come back. Even so, Shirai never expected that Misuzu-sama would die before her — not like that.
It was sudden, so abrupt, in the way death always is when it comes to claim its reward. Yuyu found herself suddenly without the solid and comforting presence of her onee-sama, lost and lovely to lick her deep wounds when once before she had someone to rely on for it. A novel experience that she wished she hadn't discovered so soon.
That's why, when she first saw the transparent remnants of Kawazoe, she clung to it tightly, not even thinking of letting go. Her mind was deteriorating, her body was tired and her heart was forever aching; but the moments when she could dance with the ghost of Misuzu-sama was the only solace she ever got in her grief. Mayhaps, sooner than later, she would actually be with her completely instead of only partially.
