Vampire Lore
I figured it would be useful for those of you who haven’t watched Being Human UK to have some information about the lore for my Vampire Babies. I have also updated my muse info for the vampires with lore info.
GENERAL INFO:
Vampires are post-human supernatural species which are cursed that a constant craving to kill and drink blood from humans
Vampires heart rate is one beat per minute, but are able to speed it up to mimic human heartbeat
Vampires look human, unless they “manifest” producing black eyes and fangs
They are frozen at the age of recruitment. Ancient vampires bodies are said to begin to decay so they have pale skin and black veins
Vampires cannot reproduce, their “children” refer to those they have turned/recruited
Recruitment: A bitten or dying human drinks a vampires blood. The person is then clinically dead for a number of hours, during which time they have visions of “the Men with Sticks and Rope”
New vampires initially feel nauseated and will immediately crave blood
The person who recruits a vampire is their “sire”, if the sire has power or control over a vampire group/”family” one of their recruits will be their “heir” to take control if the sire dies
The person who recruits a vampire is supposed to watch after them and teach them about vampire society, it is seen as bad form to recruit someone and not take care of them
Some aspects of the mind stay at the level of maturity it was on the day of recruitment
BLOOD LUST
If they are killing humans they will kill with no conscience and enjoy the rush. They do not suffer from feelings of loss, loneliness, grief, or sadness
Vampires do not need blood for sustenance is it a curse that they crave it
A vampire can be blood-dry but will suffer the bloodlust, the withdrawal also brings the memories of their kills and the painful emotions to the surface
Blood is an addiction for vampire
REFLECTION
Vampires image cannot be captured on film, camera, or mirror. However, their reflection can be seen in semi-reflective surfaces, like windows
If a vampire is wet they will give an outline of them in photos
They cannot be seen in film, cameras, or mirrors as a reminder that their souls belong to the devil
ABILITIES
Enhanced to superhuman strength: Has enhanced strength. When live feeding strength increases
Enhanced durability/invulnerability: Regular injuries and weapons cause pain but are not fatal. Wounds heal quickly. Enhanced ability increases with frequent feeding
Enhanced senses: Can hear and see much further than humans. Can sense other vampires from very far away
Clairvoyance: can identify werewolves and ghosts on sight
WEAKNESSES
Sunlight: can cause some irritation
Religious symbols: are repelled by symbols and writings/words, unless they have a strong emotional connection with the owner
Invitation: need to be invited to enter, or will be burned and mutilated if they try to enter without invitation
Garlic: not fatal but they show some disgust
Physical trauma: immense trauma, like beheading, can kill a vampire
Wooden stake: a stake through the heart will permanently kill a vampire
Werewolf blood: is toxic, corrosively burns their skin. If ingested or directed into their face can be fatal
The taint: The Taint is the sweetest blood and is addictive. When they smell it they can’t control themselves. Humans only have The Taint when their blood is poisoned in a certain way. It is very rare.

The first vampires are said to have made a deal with the devil for immortality
Humans were aware of vampires until the 1600s-1700s

Since then vampire history has been covered up and disguised as myth

In 2009 William Herrick planned a vampire takeover of earth, where humanity would be turned or farmed for blood
Herrick’s plan was stopped by the transformed werewolf George Sands killing him
In 2010 John Mitchell and Daisy Hannigan-Spiteri killed twenty train passengers in Bristol, called the Box Tunnel 20 Massacre, vampires were discovered and almost exposed, but a resurrected Herrick rescued Mitchell the story was covered up
