Half year update on Treinposities for 2026

I finished the dutch network ahead of schedule. So most rides until end year are pure "Where do i want to go" rides! (Red dots mean: Where i got off the train). The furthest i got are: Paris (Eurostar) and Hamburg (Niedersachsen Ticket + Flixtrain). The total of 4 years of tracked train travel (as my hobby) on this is: 137525 km. (as of writing)

I do sometimes cancel my train rides, but it only happens when i feel really tired (after bad night sleep). Whenever i am on the train, i am there for my own enjoyment, same with that when i go to places (such as bars*). I post where i go with public transport on my Instagram stories and i allow anyone to watch! (because idrgaf who watches my stories. Except those who i block on Insta for reasons. Like those 18+ spambots or fake accounts that spam dm's.).

I do however now combine the train + a dayticket for the bus/tram/metro in various places in the Netherlands or in Antwerp/Brussels. I still have to go to Gent again, i heard the city center was nice. But i already have London planned for the future (since i do have a ETA now) and Belgium is "Close" that i can go there if i wanted to.

*only on weekends (Friday/Saturday evening)

2 years since i visited Turnhout and made a picture of a AM08! Now in July 2026 alongside a Dal Vrij 1st class subscription from the NS (Which is subsidised by help of the Government for 2 month's). I had the most briliant idea on a thursday to go from Assen to Tilburg and take a De Lijn bus to Turnhout (Line 45), Last time i did this, the bus went 1x hour and was i think (Line 450), (According to a wikipedia article, the 4th fase of "Nieuwe Net" from the De Lijn changed it and made it so that the 45 runs 2x hour)

I certainly improved my quality of the pictures i make. I try to keep people (with their face) out of my pictures. However, sometimes i do have to take the picture with a face somewhat visible, but the i won't post it to Treinposities, but post it to my insta instead. It does the same job.

The only problem i got now. I sometimes just don't have a clue where to even go, i finished the Dutch Network ahead of schedule, the German network is shit (Cause the 3hr delay due to a overhead wire saying "Nein" and almost being stranded in Arnhem also saying "Hallo") and France/Luxembourg is a bit far away ("and i have to plan those, since if i do one of those, I might aswell book a hotel"). Bon, i shall see where dalvrij will get me. I have it, Might aswell use the hell out of it. (And don't get me started on the rail replacement busses, those can suck alot of fun out of my soul, especially Dordrecht-Rotterdam due to a cable fire)

92052 km with the train! It's still feels weird that i've accomplished that in 3 years time.

I went from some guy that stayed at home doing nothing, to now actually saying "Screw it, i want to go to some random place cause i can". During the 3 years of train travel, i made some friends! They are nice people. (one of them, i really trust with almost anything).

Now, i still have trouble with showing initiative to ask people to hang out with me. but the stupidiest thing is: I have the question in my head, i know i want to see them, i type the message out, and then my brain just pulls my brakes. I need to stop thinking with that stuff, so that i can ask my friends more frequently that i want to see them.

I usually talk to people on a 1-1 conversation, since i'm not that type to talk in group chats alot. (since not everyone needs to know what i think, my thinking is selective and regulated)

En fait! for the 100k kilometer milestone, i either plan a trip to Antwerp with my best friend or i plan a trip to London in the UK.
