album asks: Songs for Pierre Chuvin? (or Goths if that one’s already taken)
hi bestie!!!!!! <3 hope life is treating u well !!!!!! ty for the ask!!!!!!!! songs for pierre chuvin holds such a tender place in my heart, it came out at just the right moment in time. i do usually listen to the whole thing in one go though so this was a tricky one!!
the best song on the album: i think exegetic chains is as magic as this year, just in a quieter way, and that wins it the best song spot for me. it feels so completely and directly addressed to the listener as an individual?
my favorite song on the album: their gods do not have surgeons, i think, but i do mostly listen to the album in full! i have like. a lot of grief for the ways christianity wiped out celtic religions and well! this song & album in general sure as fuck speak to that.
my least favorite song on the album: i love january 31 438 but the intro to it really throws me? it's self aware of the audience in a way that isn't present in early tmg lo-fi and it's a snag to my mind, in the listening experience.
the most overrated song on the album: i don't think i've seen much discussion of individual songs on the album??? just appreciation for the timing with which it was released, which i'm super in agreement with.
most underrated: i have to say i love going to lebanon 2 a LOT for having a white sky. white sky motif is present in only a couple other mountain goats songs but going to lebanon is one of them & so is seeing daylight & the picture that's painted by connecting those songs is really interesting to me? and not something i think a lot of people would be connecting when listening to it so i have to shout out the white/milk sky motif here.
the banger of all bangers: i'm gonna say january 31 438! let me go down dancing! let me be the last one left!
rate from 0-10: 9.5. it's incredible.

the avatar statements thing -- totally agree, used to listen to hezekiah's frequently when i needed to chill out. which ones are your go-to statements?
Hezekiah’s is definitely high up on the list, along with Jane for her use of language, Annabelle for how clearly she’s enjoying herself, and Manuela because I too was a physics student who loved space and the dark
🌻!
The words text and textile are from the same root! This is also likely why you can weave or spin a story (a yarn). The thought is that weaving was a repetitive task that didn’t take much thought once you got into the rhythm of it, so humans being humans they started to tell each other stories to pass the time to the extent that cloth and stories became intertwined in people’s minds.
ttrpg asks: 2, 28, 67 for any/all characters !
ttrpg asks!
2. what was your original concept for this character? how did playing them change that concept?
Enchantment: I made Enchantment as an homage to Mollymauk after he died, but I was also fascinated with the way Travis was doing Fjord as a warlock trying to defy his patron. So I went, "Ooh, what if they were a tiefling who's father WAS their patron?" and everything kind of went downhill from there.
Clyxs: Clyxs was spawned as a way to playtest a race my friend created, the Feybright Goblin. I didn't have much of an original concept besides "fairy goblin," "artificer," and "El Dorado," but she has grown into a character that I absolutely adore RPing.
Meo: Meo is my baby boi. In the first campaign in this world, I played Xenithe, a drow sorcerer. By the end of it, she was married to Phywin, a dragonborn cleric, and they had just adopted Meo, a little baby tabaxi. When we started the second campaign, I asked my DM if I could play as my son, and she agreed! Everything hasn't gone according to plan (which I won't get into here) but the direction his character development has gone is really compelling for me to play.
28. do they collect anything?
Enchantment: Collects everything, up to and including "How Many People Can I Fuck Before I Die?" If you ask for an obscure item, they've probably got it in their Fanny Pack of Holding (cursed with Eternal Glitter!)
Clyxs: WILL steal anything she can get her hands on. Likes to hoard shiny objects, and uses them in her inventions to show off both her tinkering skills and her sleight of hand.
Meo: Doesn't really collect tangible things; it's more of a "I collect small tidbits of knowledge about my friends so I can make sure they always have their favorite things because making them happy makes me happy." Also catnip.
67. do they consider themselves to be special?
Enchantment: Oh lordy don't even get me started. Enchantment is the most narcissistic bastard you will ever have the displeasure of meeting, and I love it. Current goals? Usurp their father and become a god. No biggie.
Clyxs: Clyxs wants to be remembered as the Greatest Adventurer That Ever Lived. She knows she's still at the beginning of that, though, and is very eager to keep growing and learning and exploring!
Meo: This babey is the most humble person in the world, and he will deny it if you tell him this. Never thinks about himself, and his only goal is to be the kind of person that can protect his friends from anything.
