Go Outside Yo graffiti photo zine, mini test print
While working on the other idea for a graffiti photo zine, realised some of the photos would work better in a landscape format. Created a whole zine then discovered it was too expensive to get a single test print from mixam for the paper I wanted to use, so resized the layouts & pics and got an A5 landscape test print.
Ordered one & mixam sent me four, two had visible white edges where they were poorly trimmed.
I'm keeping one, sent one to Zine Pavilion, sold one on ebay & the other is available via either ko-fi or etsy. Final zine is probably going to be larger (A4 landscape), have slightly different wording on cover & extra pages with info on my other zines + adverts maybe.
Mini test print of a graffiti photo zine I'm working on. I ordered one copy & Mixam sent me extras. 16 stapled pages of graffiti art photos
My physical copy of Suit Up! Is finally here!!!
Coppy's full sized friends at mixam (uk) gonna be busy printing real copies of my zine
^ dramatic reconstruction
Preorder the actual zine on ko-fi, etsy & itch.io (reward with digital pre-order) - orders will come with at least one (up to 3) promo business card and sticker until I run out.
This is a preorder for the first proper print issue of Thoughts Of You fanzine. The finished zine will be posted some point in July (or Augu

I love your grimmichi so much. I wish there was a shipping group for starkichi. I love you books too. I wrote one but I have no idea how to publish without getting in trouble with copyright law?
Thank you!!! ; u ; This is a good opportunity to share some deets about:
FANBOOK PRINTING!
Me and most people self-publishing zines and books etc use MIXAM They have a US, CA, UK, and AUS site They aren't picky about what they print! Most printers have a strict list of what they will not print, but Mixam doesn’t have this. They’ll do NSFW etc, and all you need to print is to upload a PDF! They’re also one of the cheaper options on the market.
You can get a rough quote by checking your estimated number of sides + color or B&W etc. They offer a number of sizes with a 400-600 page count max, but keep in mind they don’t do traditional newsprint paperback book paper, they use white. Their quote page looks like this:
If you can handle fulfillment and taxes yourself, it’s the best option that I’m aware of. They used to offer a free sample kit in the USA, but no longer. Check to see if it’s offered in your country! I don’t sell fanbooks for profit, but just because you don’t make a profit doesn’t mean you still don’t need to report it on your taxes! (I AM NOT A TAX PROFESSIONAL LOL Just letting you know that in the USA, the IRS wants to see it) Happy printing ; u ; Feel free to hit me with any questions, I’m always down to share!
Mixam Minicomic Review
Written by @thealmightym / http://www.waywardstudios.net/ and posted to HTBACA with permission.
@plotholetsi and I ordered some minicomics from Mixam and they just arrived this week!
Read below for my full review: They offer sample packs if anyone wants to check them out and if you're familiar with the How to Think When You Draw books, they're the printer of those.
Custom sizing, no minimums that I can see (though purchasing more gets you a better per item cost). I got 50 books for 85 cents each (before shipping, 5.5" x 8.5", 24 page b&w interior, satin finish pages which feels like a traditional floppy comic) and 200 of another title for about $1 each (same size, 28 pages, b&w interior, uncoated paper). Even after shipping, I'm looking at about $1.29 per book.
The printer recommended we add a laminate coating to the books. We ordered one of the titles without and one of the titles with. There's a a SOLID layer of protection on the coated books and we saw some mild scuffing on the top book in the box of uncoated, so I do recommend spending the extra money on that (it only added 6 cents per book on 200 books).
There's also a clear difference between their less expensive satin paper and their pricier uncoated. The satin finish not only feels nicer to flip through, but also made the blacks blacker than on the uncoated. Also, compared to previous runs of this particular title, Mixam was able to get a LOT more subtlety out of my marker strokes than anyone else (a benefit in this case, but if you're looking for a solid black you'll want to double check your files). I don't know what kind of subtlety you'd get on their uncoated paper since the files for that were all made digitally.
They shipped out the books in 2 separate shipments on two different dates, which was odd, but they arrived within a couple days of each other as well. Packed very well (plenty of bubble wrap around the books that didn't fill the box and wrapped in plastic for the boxes that were completely full).
TL;DR: Mixam has a really good product for a really good & competitive price, a reasonable turnaround, and was communicative when they thought they could make my order even better for a low cost. My biggest complaint was their online ordering system while I was trying to align the pages, but once I figured out what the hell I was doing wrong, it was quick to take care of. Will order from again.
Hello dear followers!
Sorry for no content lately, but it is a stressful time, and exams don’t help.
However, I’m running a print test!
If you’ve ever desired to get a print of one of my artworks, that time si nearing.
Soon!
