Our November #newprofilepic are @tiamowry & #tameramowry! Tia Dashon Mowry & Tamera Darvette Mowry-Housley (b. July 6, 1978) are mixed American twin actresses. They first gained recognition for their starring roles as Tia Landry & Tamera Campbell in the sitcom Sister, Sister (1994–1999). They then starred together in the fantasy comedy Seventeen Again (2000), voiced the LaBelle sisters in the animated series Detention (1999–2000), starred in the Disney Channel Original Movies Twitches (2005) & Twitches Too (2006) & had their own reality show, Tia & Tamera (2011-2013).
Separately, Tamera is also a tv personality. She starred in the medical drama Strong Medicine as Dr. Kayla Thornton. From 2013-2020, she was one of the co-hosts of the syndicated daytime talk show The Real originally alongside Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love & Jeannie Mai. She was on the Hallmark Channel show lost & found until 2021.
Tia voiced Sasha in the animated series Bratz (2005–2006), starred as Melanie Barnett in the comedy-drama series The Game (2006–2012, 2015), Stephanie Phillips in the sitcom Instant Mom (2013–2015) & Cocoa McKellan in the sitcom Family Reunion (2019–2022). She had starring roles in The Hot Chick (2002), The Mistle-Tones (2012), Baggage Claim (2013) & Indivisible (2018).
#DYK they formed a singing group in the early 90s called Voices? They debuted their first single, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!", in 1992 & it charted at No. 72 on the Billboard Hot 100!
They were born in Gelnhausen, West Germany before relocating to the States. Tia is 2 minutes younger than Tamera. They also have 2 younger brothers, actor Tahj Mowry (Smart Guy) & musician Tavior Mowry, who played college football for University of California, Davis. Their father is of #British & #Irish ancestry & their mother is of #AfroBahamian descent. 🇧🇸🇬🇧🇮🇪
