This week marks the halfway point through my clinic placements, and what a week it’s been! I drove ‘down south’ to a little mixed animal practice in the beautiful South West region of Australia. Over 5 days I got to spay a dog, castrate a cat, test the semen of over 70 bulls, assist in countless consultations including that of a heartworm positive dog, help with the post mortem of a calf whose colon wasn’t continuous with the rest of the GI tract, drench a couple of bulls, and so much more. I had the pleasure of working with some very talented and inspirational vets, and learnt loads through watching and listening to them. I was so absorbed in the cases that I forgot to take a single animal photo, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
