I dare any of you to name a franchise that does this more.
Since it’s been released that season 6 will be Cobra Kai’s last season, I just want to share some thoughts about it. Specifically, the Sekai Tekai? (I think that is how you spell it, pls correct me if I am wrong)
But we know nothing of it except it’s a competition, so it only right to assume there will be one winner. (Maybe two but I have another post about THAT). But like, for the life of me, I DO NOT WANT IT TO BE SAMANTHA LARUSSO!!! Don’t get ne wrong, I absolutely love Sam and am ten does down for her all the way. But if this is really going to be Cobra Kai’s last season, I want to be wowed. I know miss girl has been through a lot but she will not wow me.
I’m on the fence about Tory. She kind of got the All Valley. And the only reason I want her to win this competition is because Terry robbed her of ever knowing if she was good enough to win. That is the only reason.
As much as I love my boys, Eli and Miguel, but I SO DO NOT WANT THEM TO WIN THE SEKAI TEKAI!! Both have an all valley championship under the belt and we love that for them. But they need to step out of the way, and give somebody else a chance.
I’d love it if Robby won, I’d really would. But I will not be wowed. It’d be kind of obvious that one of the core four will win and that’s exactly why I don’t want one of them to win.
I want them to do something like the very first Karaye Kid. Like take a kid that has been bullied his whole life/struggled and turn them into the ULTIMATE champion.
You know who would wow me? You want to know who I absolutely, 100% want to win the Sekai Tekai?!?!

📓 - the plot of a wip i haven't (and probably won't) write
So I once had this idea for a Miyagi-verse fic which focused on Amanda LaRusso and Jessica Andrews because I wanted to explore that relationship since they'd been confirmed as cousins a couple years before - it was intended for last year's Gen Work June and it seemed a good idea because I hadn't (and still haven't) written anything for Amanda so why not try doing this, looking at her life growing up and how difficult her family life tended to be, but the one bright and constant spot would be her cousin, the sister she'd always wanted when she was younger and who's always been there for her...
But it just never got off the ground and honestly isn't likely too, because as interesting as Jessica is I also don't really want to rewatch Karate Kid III or watch past Cobra Kai's third season because it just went downhill, and I'm not confident enough to try and write Jessica without refreshing myself but I'm not compelled enough to put myself through terrible media just for that, so it remains in the scrap folder and likely always will.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure if this means dialogue from a WIP or dialogue that got cut from a published fic - but I'm going with the former as I rarely keep scraps from the latter!! This is from one of my Cobra Kai WIPs!!

Elaine Barnes had this realisation a little while back and decides now's the time to drop it (no points for guessing how well Hawk takes the accusation that he's just being used)
✂️ cut plot lines
For my Flash fic Steph Taylor was originally intended to be Eddie Thawne's endgame love interest in The Shieldmaiden Saga. This was what I was planning and writing towards for a year and a half and about seven chapters into the first story...only to realise that between the plot already snowballing, the themes of how important platonic love is, and reading more and more posts about amanormativity and how the recipients of unrequited love shouldn't be expected to return it, that stories never really take their side into account...
And I realised it just didn't fit. I couldn't, in good conscience, continue with this plotline because it was going against the very themes I was building up in the fic and the series, so it went. Steph's still in love with him but his feelings will remain entirely platonic, and that's perfectly fine and it ultimately doesn't change anything at all - they still love each other and will always have each other's backs, always.

Formal OC Introduction - Leah Reynolds Barnes
Series: bad boy (no more), notable fic is protecting our family (and calling you out)
Though Leah Reynolds always knew she'd inherit Agoura Fine Furnishings one day, she still wanted a good career before that, and decided that she would become a history teacher - a subject she'd loved and excelled in at school, and something she thought she'd be good at. She still helped out at the store when she could, but it wasn't her main focus, and she knew the workers mainly in passing more than anything else.
That changed when Mike Barnes came to work for her father in March of 1986, a somewhat reserved young man who had something of a shady past but who took to furniture making like a duck to water, becoming her dad's protege, and as a result she saw more of him. As he opened up to her, they soon became firm friends, and it wasn't long before she fell in love with him (and he her) - by 1989 they'd starting dating...which was when Mike told her about the events of '85, as he felt guilty about keeping something like that from her and feeling she deserved better. But she'd seen for herself how working in the business had helped him and knew that he was a changed man, and stayed with him.
In the near three decades since they've built a life together - got married, raised three children, and eventually took on the store after her father died. Life was good, and although Mike often warned the children about Cobra Kai she never thought it would matter as the dojo had long since been shut down...so she, like her husband, is apprehensive when the dojo re-opens again. Even though none of their children are interested in karate, it doesn't meant it can't still hurt them - especially Elaine, who goes to the same school as most of the students.
All she knows is that if they are caught up in it, there'll be hell to pay for the people responsible...
