After some coercion, healers come see to Eliot, while Quentin affixes himself firmly to Eliot's side. After a few minutes' concentrated effort, Eliot's eyes flutter open.

"Q," Eliot says, like he can't believe he's real.

"Yeah, and I'm here too, you ungrateful bitch."

"Bambi," Eliot says, reaching out his other hand to her.

Eliot twists his wrist so that Quentin's turns too, revealing the tattoo. He looks from the tattoo up to Quentin, who nods, biting his lip and fighting back tears. Eliot laughs roughly, stopping after a moment as it seems to pain him.

Dr. Lipson comes storming in then, making them both back up so that she can run some additional tests now that he's awake.

When they're finally allowed to come close again, Eliot's been heavily dosed. "I'm going to go to sleep now. I love you," he says, bringing Margo's hand up to his mouth to kiss, then doing the same with Quentin's wrist.

He drifts off again, looking much more peaceful this time. Quentin spends the next several minutes clinging to Margo and sobbing, "He's alive, he's alive."

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?

Well @indiguus dragged me into the 911 fandom with promises of attractive firefighters and extremely gay best friends and I haven’t looked back. (It’s always his fault lbr)

WIP Title Meme: here we go again?

Here we go again (title might change): Queliot with minor Penny/Kady, Penny23/Margo, Wickinn..

This one is gonna be my next big project I think. It’s a time travel AU!

During the apocalypse Eliot comes across a questing creature who offers him the chance to go back and change one moment to see if it changes everything. Eliot chooses the throne room and makes a different choice.

How does s3 change with Queliot together? Will use the concept of the butterfly effect! Also my way to fix multiple things that I don’t like... And yes this will deal w/ s4 as well.. 

Twice the Pennys! Switched up dynamics! Actual friendships! Other fun surprises

WIP game: memoryghost!

This was supposed to be a gift fic several years ago, probably for a holiday exchange I couldn’t do because life got in the way. Steve’s stuck in limbo while he’s in the ice, neither dead nor fully alive, and his only tether to the world is Tony. Tony’s the only person who can see and hear him, but they can’t touch and Tony swiftly learns that he can’t talk about Steve because that will land him in trouble. Fast forward to 2012 and Steve and Tony meet. Steve doesn’t remember his time in the ice at all while Tony remembers everything and is confused and hurt by Steve’s behavior—especially because right before Steve fully wakes up in the future, he becomes solid enough for Tony to touch him and they kiss. 

I put this on my WIP list, but looking at what I have, I don’t think I’ll ever post it. I couldn’t figure out whose POV to do (I have three docs, one in Steve’s POV, another in Tony’s, and the third just seems to be a bunch of stuff I wanted to save from both), and I think it’ll hit a lot of the same beats as the post-Endgame MTH 2019 fic I’m working on! 

But here are little bits I liked even though they’re very rough, unedited, and old. I want to edit them, but there isn’t really a point haha. I’ll put them under a read more because this will be long.

STEVE POV

He supposed the signs had already been there. The way that he had known how to fight alongside Tony against the Chitauri without ever having done so. How he had instinctively turned his shield to meet and refract Tony’s repulsor blasts.

The kiss was something that had been a long time coming, and when it happened, Steve should have thought about how he had wanted this for so long and how he finally had it. Instead, he felt the first tendrils of unease crawl under his skin as he placed his hands on Tony’s hips, and when Tony relaxed and began to to return the kiss, something stirred in the faraway recesses of Steve’s mind just out of his reach, like the feather touch of a buried dream.

He knew before Tony moved exactly what Tony would do and when Tony did just that—cupping his face and leaning into him—the strange familiarity was disconcerting enough that he broke off the kiss.

“Sorry, I just...” he said, but he didn’t know what he was saying.

Tony said nothing, and when he looked up, there was something odd in Tony’s eyes, beyond the hurt and self-loathing he saw flashing there before Tony’s expression smoothed over. Understanding, and it was enough for him to take a step back.

“It’s not you,” he said, but the world was still tilting under him. “It’s me.”

He left Tony in the stomach of his workshop, jagged and brittle like the twisted pieces of armor strewn across the floor.

TONY POV

The first time Tony meets Steve, Steve doesn’t even turn to look at him as he lands; he just nods in his direction and says, “Mr. Stark.”

He remembers every detail of the meeting as though it were seared into his memory, a repulsor burn hot enough to scar and painful enough too.

The first time Tony meets Steve, Steve has eyes for only him and he says, “Hey, Tony” like his heart’s being broken and mended all at the same time. His eyes are blue like the sky on the day he was born, and for the rest of his life, that color brings him comfort like nothing else can.

He doesn’t remember this at all.

He’s holding onto the neck of a bottle of scotch when Steve comes in. He should feel ashamed, and a part of him does feel that way, but for the most part, he’s too far gone to care.

Steve's face twists and he makes a half-aborted movement, as though he wanted to reach for the bottle loosely clasped in Tony's hand before realizing he wouldn’t be able to do it at the last minute.

“Tony,” Steve whispers. “I think you’ve had enough to drink.”

Tony’s eyes slides to the bottle in his hand.

“Sometimes I think I made you up,” he slurs.

9. What are the best things about your current fandom?

well, i’m in a mixture of naruto and marvel hell at the moment and they have very different environments and individuals inhabiting the spaces. for naruto, it’s that fandom creators and consumers are generally tracking that content ≠ reality, and purity/cancel culture isn’t as widespread while constructive/critical consuming is accepted and celebrated (i mean c’mon now, they send six-year-olds to war for power and money, the naruto ‘verse is wild and totally not applicable towards our reality). for marvel, it’s that it’s so damn big that there is an abundance of content to consume and create both, plus you can always find a little bubble of like-minded people while avoiding all of the inevitable toxicity that inherently comes with a massive fandom.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?

eh, probably kakaita and ironfalcon right now. i just really love sam wilson and i’d climb anthony mackie like a tree so.

31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?

i’m not really a writer who tracks or anxiously awaits comments -- i don’t even have e-mail notifications for comments/kudos activated on any of my accounts, and most of the time i don’t even realise that someone’s commented on something i’ve written unless i’ve mustered up the social energy to revisit a fic and reply to comments (and that’s rare enough as it is, plus is usually only triggered by the fic being part of a fest). i know it probably makes me a shit person, but about 95% of the comments on my fics haven’t even been read by me. what can i say, i lived in fandom before and during lj’s prime, and i was burnt on reading comments because it was a toxic time period for fandom that usually resulted in death threats or the flagging of a fic. reading comments and responding to them tends to wig me out.

that being said, one of my fics dealt with csa, drug use, eating disorders, and emotional manipulation, and then how both the character and the people he’d surrounded himself with reacted and dealt with that. a reader told me in a dm that the fic helped them come to terms with what happened to them and encouraged them into therapy while letting them communicate with their friends about their boundaries and their past. that’s...a hell of a thing to read from a real human person, y’know? i don’t know if that can be qualified as ‘nice’, per se, but it was one of the most amazing things i’ve ever read.

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

i just...really love that archive of our own exists. fandom, especially in larger fandoms, can be toxic and corrosive and hateful, and i’ve been in fandom for a long, long time. i remember how fics would be arbitrarily deleted just because someone didn’t like the pairing or fandom or the kinks in a ‘lemon’ or literally anything (even up to not liking the fucking tense a fic was written in). i remember how we were censored for lgbtqa+ pairings on sites/servers not friendly to queer creators or queer characters/queer interpretations of characters. i remember always being terrified of getting sued by the Actual Author of a universe and having to avoid a fandom/pairing because of it because creators were being sued. ao3 is a fucking gift for fandom even though people can misuse or blatantly abuse tags and i am grateful every day that it exists. i’m also incensed that people want to police it or complain about the fundraising because i intimately know what fandom is like without ao3, but that’s another rant entirely that people much smarter and coherent than me have said in-depth. i just really love ao3, so fucking much. i’d marry that site if i could.
