Happy international women's day!! I am proud of the woman I am and the woman I am becoming. But most of all I am proud of the women who have inspired me to be as strong or weak as I want, as decisive or undecided as I choose, be as loving or distant as I want and most of all be true to myself and all the good and bad that I bring forward. I am proud of all women and all men who inspire me to be as bold of a woman as I am, And I urge all girls, ladies, chicks, divas, duchesses and women to be just as proud !! Allow men and women to challenge and inspire you. And be that same challenger and inspirer to those around you! Yesterday I celebrated 3 months since I had my Ostomy relocation surgery! Though not perfect I am truly thankful for this amazing man taking a chance on my quality of life and well being. Recovery has had its ups and downs but I am thrilled to say I have been well since 2 weeks out and just living life to the fullest of my ability. My journey in the medical world is far from over but I am truly passionate about never letting it define, change or stigmatize my life. Cheers to now being able to eat fibre, solids and fun food !! And thank you to everyone in my life ! You are and have been my rocks, soldiers and cheer leaders! Challenge accepted
We spend most of our life facing challenges. We win some and we lose some but somehow we always end up just fine on the other side of it….
I have been thinking about the challenges I have faced, and more specifically the ones I see people facing daily. Te challenge of acceptance. Society accepting us, work, friends , family… But more of all, self acceptance.
Waking up we look in the mirror and think about how we look, what we feel, how we will present ourself, what our challenge is and how we hope to just make it through the tough stuff. But most of all we look at ourself. We judge, critique, stare and decide if we are enough.
Stop.
Stop staring.
Stop judging.
You are it, just you. The challenges we face are not as great or hard to overcome if we choose to stop challenging ourself before outside challenges begin.
My greatest challenge is myself, and once I have overcome that… Well the rest is really just a beautiful adventure.
