Felinette Month Day 13
Revelations
Felix was not what you would call a dense person, by any means.
He was the most intelligent person in class, even compared to Max, who may come close to beating him in mathematics, but was nowhere near him in literary skills.
Yes, Felix was certainly a bright individual.
So why didn’t he know he and Marinette were dating?
————
It had started about four weeks ago, when Marinette had asked Felix to coffee.
Naturally, he had accepted; it combined his two favorite things, coffee, and Marinette.
However, when he said yes, she turned beet red and ran off, yelling thank you.
At the coffee shop, Marinette was more normal, joking around and laughing with him. It was truly enjoyable, so much so that Felix asked if they could do it again some other time.
She turned slightly pink, and nodded.
“Friday?”
“Sounds good for my schedule.”
The sun set and Felix was content.
—
Days later, their coffee meets became more and more frequent, and the two had been spending more and more time together, but Felix feared it was soon over.
He had made a passing comment about never eating a chocolate chip cookie, and Marinette froze.
Throughout the rest of the time, she communicated in few words, and left as soon as she could.
Could he have offended her?
Of course she was offended, you dolt! She’s a bakers daughter!
Seconds before the bell rang, Marinette sped into the classroom, carrying a pink box.
The minute she sat down next to him, he was all apologies.
“Marinette, I am so sorry if I said something to offend you the other day, I didn’t mean anything by it. I hope you can forgive me and we can continue our coffee meets.”
She glowered at him and pointed at the box. “Eat it.”
“What?”
“Eat. The. Cookies.”
He tentatively opened the box and noticed cookies of every variety. “Nette....”
“I figure if you’ve never even had chocolate chip cookies, you haven’t had other kinds.” She glared again. “Eat.”
He obediently bit into the first cookie he saw, as Marinette slumped into his side.
“That one’s a Snickerdoodle.” She whispered.
“It’s delicious.” He murmured back.
The two sat next to each other and shared cookies, as class began.
———
The days after, it seemed that Marinette had taken it upon herself to acquaint Felix with the rest of their classmates.
First, they played a dancing video game against Alya and Nino, who lost.
They took ceramic lessons with Ivan and Mylene.
They went to a fashion event with Adrien and Kagami.
Felix could say with certainty that he was truly getting to know the students in his class.
He did find it odd that they only met with them in pairs, however.
———
The breaking point of his revelation was when the fall dance was being advertised.
Felix was in Ms. Medeleiev’s class, studying chemistry, when he heard the familiar voices of Marinette and Alya.
“So, you’re gonna go with Felix to the dance, right? Do you have outfits planned yet?”
“Well, I’ve been working in outfits just in case, but I haven’t actually.... asked him yet.”
Felix could practically see the sheepish expression on her face.
“Seriously? Girl, you’re always the one initiating dates between you two. Culpa needs to step up!”
“That’s not true...”
“Really? Who was the one who planned to double date with me and Nino? Kagami and Adrien? Any date you’ve ever been on?!”
“He’s just not the type for planned outings..”
“Girl, he is the most structured person in our class. He’s not showing enough dedication.”
“Of course he is!” Marinette’s voice raised in indignation. “He is the best boyfriend I could ever want!”
“He never skips our on our dates, he always makes time for me when I ask, he is so considerate! Just because he’s not the one planning our dates, doesn’t mean he doesn’t put just as much effort in our relationship as I do!”
Felix was stunned. The rest of the conversation drifted from listening range as his thoughts spiraled.
I’m dating Marinette.
I have wanted to date Marinette for a number of weeks.
I have not been the kind of boyfriend I want to be for Marinette.
Then, the conclusion.
I must be a better partner for the most perfect girl in Paris.
Soon, a plan began to develop in his mind and all thoughts of studying disappeared.
———
It was Saturday, Felix was standing a ways outside of the bakery.
His hair was combed, his tie was tied, and a single violet was clutched in his hands.
He entered and, without a single word from him, Sabine Cheng nodded, pointing a single finger up.
He walked calmly upstairs, rehearsing his speech in whispers.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the blue door.
Marinette opened and burst into a smile.
“Hey, Felix! What’re you doing here?”
“Marinette, I’m sorry I haven’t been the boyfriend I should have been, these last few weeks. I’ve been selfish and dense, and you don’t deserve that. Please believe me when I say I want to change, to be better for you. Will you please be my date to the fall dance?”
She took the violet gently, staring at the delicate petals. “Of course I’ll go with you, but first I have something to confess.”
He nodded.
“For the first couple days we were dating, I didn’t know. Alya needed to tell me.”
Felix swallowed a laugh.
They had some talking to do.
For those wondering about the headband and glasses miraculous
Look carefully. It's still the Monkey and Horse miraculous, just camouflaged. I guess different users can will the miraculous' to look differently. Kinda like how in Reflecdoll the Ladybug earrings changed silver for Adrien, and the Black Cat ring turned gold for Marinette.
How much does Nathaniel weigh that Mendeleiev is able to pick him up with one hand a couple of inches above the ground without struggling at all?? Or is she just really strong??
hi i was wondering if you could do hogwarts au for felinette thing?
[Send me Felinette prompts/requests]
“Mr. Culpa!” Professor Mendeleiev stomped in, brandishing a rod that was certainly not a wand. “What is this?”
“A pen.”
“Why are you using this and not a quill?”
“It’s more convenient and makes less stray marks than a quill.”
“Mr. Culpa,” Professor Bustier sighed, “we’ve talked about this many times. It’s quite likely that the reason you don’t have many friends is because of your insistence on using muggle technology.”
“I have one friend.” He pointed out. “And any more would keep me from my goals.”
The two teachers exchanged a glance before leaving, Professor Mendeleiev muttering, “Slytherins.”
“I don’t know how you manage with her as your head of house.” Felix remarked, packing away his book on werewolves.
“At least I don’t have to deal with Lila.”
“True.”
“Speaking of, did you hear her excuse for not doing anything in Charms?”
“I believe I did.”
“‘I’m so sorry, Professor, but I share a percentage of my blood with a squib, so I can’t do magic today.’ It was totally inaccurate.”
“Wizards are lacking in most common sense.” He agreed. “Why else would they try to stop me from using pens?”
“Definitely. I made ‘liquid luck’ once and dumped it in Alya’s drink once; she still failed the test.”
“You what?!” Felix nearly leapt out of his seat. “Netta, that’s illegal!”
“Oops.” Marinette smiled and winked at him. “But not if the authorities don’t know about it, right?”
He slid back down next to her. “How are you not in Slytherin?”
“Hat’s stupid.”
He gripped her hand tight, scanning the room to ensure that no hecklers or bullies were nearby before pressing a lasting kiss to her lips.
“Why couldn’t we have both been born muggles?” He whispered.
“Because with our luck, we’d still get tied up with magic.” She huffed. “Probably something like enchanted jewelry with tiny magical beings that grant superpowers inside.”
“Sounds ludicrous.”
She arched a brow. “More ludicrous than a forest of ‘instant and painful death’ being right next to a school?”
“Fair.” He hugged her tight. “You’re the only sane thing in this place.”
“Including you?”
“Maybe.”

Chapter 7
Cataclysm looked down at his three classmates; Claude, Mercury, and Allegra.
“It was a very noble thing you three did.” He began. “But you shouldn’t risk your lives like that ever again.”
“But Grademaker was about to hurt you!” Allegra shouted, throwing out her arms. “It wasn’t like we could just sit by and do nothing.”
“Besides, the Blessed wouldn’t care if anything happened. We’re just some Cursed brats to them.” Mercury muttered.
Claude burst through the two and held out a piece of paper. “Can I have your autograph?!”
“Claude, we talked about this.” Allegra hissed. “After.”
“Oh, right.” He wilted.
“No worries, I can sign that.” He pulled the pen and paper from Claude’s hand and signed the paper in a scratchy cursive, rotting a corner of the paper with a touch.
He squealed and took back the paper, holding it close to his chest. “Thank you!”
Cataclysm smiled and turned away, about to use his yo-yo to swing back to the bakery.
“Wait,” Allegra grabbed his arm, “I have a question for you first.”
He nodded.
“Why are you working with that Blessed, and letting her take all the glory? She’s the sidekick here, not you.”
Cataclysm sighed for a moment before answering with the reply he had been forming since he heard his class ranting about it upon his debut.
“Neither of us are a sidekick, we are partners. My goal in doing this isn’t glory, it is just to help save Paris and break down the barrier between Blessed and Cursed, I need Lucky Charm for that; I can’t do it alone.”
With that he turned around and threw his yo-yo towards a nearby building, giving it a tug to ensure it was secure.
He turned back to the three, who stared at him. “Thank you again for helping us, but please, don’t try to make a habit of it.”
Mercury and Allegra nodded, while Claude gave a silly salute. “You got it!”
With another sharp tug on the yo-yo’s string, Cataclysm swung off to a familiar bakery.
—
Felix ripped the ribbon off of his arm and stuffed it and his mask into his pocket.
Taking the steps two at a time, he burst into the room, gasping out apologies for taking longer than he’d expected.
“It’s fine dear,’ his mother smiled, making an odd gesture towards his left hand, “were you safe, though? After that massive brawl outside the bakery, I had worries.”
The gestures worsened and Felix looked down at his hand and saw his yo-yo, not yet in pin form.
He pressed the secret button and discreetly clipped the pin to his pocket.
“I was fine; Cataclysm and Lucky Charm dealt with it.”
“What about Cataclysm?” Marinette peeked her head from her trap door.
“I was just saying how he and Lucky Charm saved Paris from another akuma.”
“Did you see him? Does he look really cool? What’s his outfit look like?” She leapt near him, desperate for information.
“Cataclysm and Lucky Charm both had rather interesting outfits, though Cataclysm’s seemed like something out of his closet. Lucky Charm’s was more fitting for a superhero.”
“Why are you paying so much attention to Lucky Charm? Got a crush?” A smirk crawled up her face as she leaned forward.
“Why are you so desperate for information on Cataclysm? Do you have a crush?”
“I- ah, er...” She pressed her index fingers together and a healthy shade of pink began to rise her face.
“So, Marinette,” Bridgette gracefully changed the subject, “I hear that there are some new students in your class?”
Marinette grinned at her. “Yeah, Alya, who is getting pretty close to being my best friend and Adrien, who... who seems pretty nice.”
“Nice, so that’s what we’re going with...” Felix smirked.
“ANYWAY!” She glared at him. “Felix and I are gonna go upstairs and look over my designs, and not talk about this anymore.”
—
“This is pretty good, but I would recommend a little less orange.”
“‘Kay.” She made a quick note and closed her book.
“New decor?” Felix gestured to the posters dotting the walls.
“Oh, uh.” Her eyes darted to the posters and widened, before she leapt at the walls and tore every page off the wall and hid it behind her back. “You weren’t supposed to see those.”
“You know, Netta,” Felix propped his head on his hands, “there’s no shame in having a crush.”
“It’s not a crush. I just saw him a lot in my favorite fashion magazines and he turned out to be really nice and...” Her face turned red and she pressed her hands to her cheeks.
“So a baseless celebrity crush.” Felix amended, shrugging. “Also nothing to be ashamed of.”
“Well, you would know, wouldn’t you?” A gleam appeared in her eyes and Felix internally groaned.
“It was a phase, I was young.”
“You wrote Clara Nightingale poetry, and sent it to her!”
“I was interested in poetry and her ability to always rhyme was interesting to me.”
“She was so flattered, she made it a song and preformed it on live television; you cried into your pillow for three hours!” She cackled, holding her sides.
“Fine, okay, you got me!” He threw his hands in the air, falling back on the chaise. “I cried for a few hours after you left too! Now that you have a more embarrassing comparison, will you admit that you have a crush on him?”
“Nope, not until you admit that you have a crush, and you tell me who she is!”
Felix reeled back, surprised. He didn’t think he had done anything to encourage this belief at all.
“I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean...”
“You’ve got to be kidding, you blush at random points of the day, so it’s obvious you were thinking about her. I bet you already have a folder in your phone just full of love confessions and photos of her.”
Before Felix could open his mouth and rebut her claim, his mother’s voice sang from the floor below.
“Felix, it’s time to go, can you wrap it up?”
He glared at Marinette, who was the very definition of smug.
“We will finish this conversation later.”
“When you tell me who mystery girl is?” She retorted. “Sure thing.”
Felix left without a reply.
—
He sat on his office chair, logging onto his computer.
Fully aware that his mother was otherwise occupied with Kevin, he clicked an inconspicuous-looking folder, typing in the password with a few deft key strokes.
You weren’t entirely wrong, Netta, he thought, as he uploaded the pictures from his phone onto the computer, but I would never be so careless as to leave evidence on my phone.
He quickly scanned through the number of selfies he had, smiling at the memory of each one, when he finally clicked a blank document, ready to start yet another useless confession.
It’s cathartic, he reminded himself yet again, it keeps you from saying these things out loud.
Not saying it out loud apparently wasn’t helping, though, if Marinette so easily saw the crush written across his features.
He shrugged those thoughts off and channeled different thought, one more rich with emotion.
Dear Marinette...

Chapter 6
As Marinette pushed herself out of her loft, the wind through her hair, she only had one thought: I need to have a better way to hide my identity than just a mask.
There was a bright flash of light and a scream.
Okay, costume ideas later.
She perched on a roof and assessed the woman tearing through the streets.
Purple hair, black jumpsuit, on fire lab coat, giant pen. Yes, definitely a villain. She pointed her pen in the air.
“Submit yourself to grading! Are you Cursed or Blessed? Only the Grademaker can decide!”
“So her name is Grademaker…” she mused, watching her stomp down a corner.
“That’s Ms. Mendeleiev, the teacher for the Cursed in one of the nearby schools.”
Marinette screamed and almost toppled off of the roof before Cataclysm grabbed her hand and hulled her back up.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“It’s fine, I wasn’t paying attention.” Her eyes trailed over his new costume. “Nice suit, by the way.”
“Yes, it certainly fits what I’m going for.” He fished in his pocket. “Speaking of, I have one for you as well.” He handed her a ribbon. “Just tie it on your wrist or ankle.”
She took the ribbon and wrapped it around one of her pigtails. Instantly a glow enveloped her, shifting her clothes until she looked like a genuine hero.
It was mostly brown, with patches of a more gold-like color on her toes, elbows, knees, and the tips of her skirt. The skirt was open in the front, allowing for better maneuvering, and had a reddish belt that she immediately clipped her baton to. Her collar was black with a white cotton ball hanging off of it.
She leapt up, doing a full spin in the air before she landed. “I love it! Thanks, Cataclysm!”
“A good friend of mine made it. Now, let’s go, Grademaker isn’t waiting for us.”
“Right. Let’s go.”
She extended her baton, flying through the skies, as Cataclysm wrapped his yo-yo on a gargoyle and swung alongside her.
————————
They both crouched behind a chimney and watched as Grademaker interrogated citizens.
“You! What’s your ability?”
The girl, who could only have been about six, quivered. “I can make little stars…”
“Blessed.” Grademaker pointed her pen at the girl and a red circle flew out of it. It floated just above the girls head before glowing gold. “‘A’ plus. And your mother?” She narrowed her eyes.
The mother stepped forward. “I can bend and twist metal with my mind.”
Grademaker reeeled back. “Disfigurement Of metal? Cursed!” She shrieked as a red ‘X’ flew out of her pen. “An ‘F’ if I ever saw one.” The ‘X’ attached itself to the woman back, wrapping itself around her arms, trapping them at her sides.
Cataclysm glanced at her and nodded. Marinette jumped from her hiding place and slammed her staff on the pen, just before another grade flew out of it.
“Ah, Lucky Charm! The power of creation. Blessed. I’m afraid, though, that your association with that Cursed has lowered your grade.” Another circle flew from the pen. This time, it flew around Marinette’s waist and circled it like a hula hoop. Then, it snapped shut, slamming Marinette’s hands to her sides.
“Hawkmoth wants to used you for something.” She winked her nose. “He wants Cataclysm too, but for what he would need that Cursed for, I don’t know.” Just before Grademaker grabbed Marinette, the string of a yo-yo wrapped around her waist and pulled her up next to Cataclysm.
“Sorry,” he smirked, “I don’t think we’re going anywhere.” He placed a hand on the circle entrapping her, and it disintegrated into dust. “Summon a shield and get the pen out of her hands,” he muttered, wincing at the sound of Grademaker’s offended shouts, “I’ll distract her.”
With that he ran off, still shouting. “Hey, Ms. Mendeleiev! How would you grade this?” He slid his hands against the halo and the ‘X,’ crumbling them both to dust.
Marinette threw her hands in the air just in time to catch the shield she created. It was all silver with a green four leaf clover on it. Cute.
She began prowling behind Grademaker, watching as her shots against Cataclysm became more and more frantic. She growled to herself as the pen kept moving just out of reach.
Suddenly, there was a shout and Cataclysm fell to the ground as multiple ‘X’s tied him up. Grademaker smiled wickedly as she clicked her pen, tightening his bonds. “Goodbye Cataclysm.” She hissed as the ‘X’s began to glow a searing red.
But just as smoke began coming from Cataclysm’s costume, a piercing shriek came from nowhere. Glass shattered, falling to the ground. Marinette scanned around wildly, searching for the source of the deadly sound.
There! Behind a garbage can, a girl in Felix’s class. Her eyes were squeezed shut as she yelled.
Marinette’s eyes darted back to Cataclysm, who had an enormous smile on his face as two other kids from Felix’s class rushed to his side. They exchange a few words and the kid with the green cap taps the ‘X’ and it morphs into a red bear that begins to bob slowly to a news stand and chew on the paper.
Cataclysm flipped to his feet, and swung his yo-yo at Grademaker’s hand. The pen flipped around in the air, and Marinette trained the point of her staff at it and extended it, pushing the pen towards Cataclysm.
His yo-yo wrapped around the maroon pen, and pulled it down to him. With a single tap, the pen disintegrated and a violet butterfly trailed lazily out of it. Cataclysm patiently held out his hand and darkness flew from the departing butterfly into his gloved palm.
He glanced at Marinette and nodded. She threw her hands in the air and felt the magic of her power fill the air and melt away her bruises. She opened her eyes just as Cataclysm’s dark firework faded away into the sky.
She held out her fist for a fist bump, and wasn’t disappointed. “See you next time.”
“Of course.” However, instead of leaving, Cataclysm turned to the students who saved him.
She waved to them and extended her staff into the air, flying over the rooftops and landing into her open balcony window, tearing off her ribbon and shifting her staff into a hair clip and sliding it into her hair.
The trapdoor began to cream open, and Marinette grinned. “Hey, Felix! So, the thing I needed to do didn’t turn out to be such a big deal anyway.”
When the door opened entirely, she saw that it wasn’t Felix at all, it was her papa.
“Hon, your mask is on.” He pointed, a tiny smile on his face.
“Oh!” She slipped the mask off her face and into her bag, right next to the ribbon. “Thanks Papa!”
“No problem, Lucky Charm.” He winked. “I just wanted to let you know Felix went out for a bit. He’ll be back in a bit and he’s excited to see your designs.”
“Alright.” She began pulling out notebooks and fabric samples, her mind wandering back to those three kids and how they were willing to risk their lives for Cataclysm and her, but no ‘Blessed’ had.
Odd.
