Ok so. I'm really just noticing this, but this book takes credit away from Elspeth a lot to make Venser look better and it comes off as really. Mm. How do I say this. Sexist. Elspeth should have said this to Koth. This is what she knows. Not Venser. Venser in this book feels like a mouthpiece for the author and I hate it.
Also he calls her fair knight.
I'm left with no choice. This counter will cover two things. One, whenever Venser is m'ladying Elspeth, and two, whenever Elspeth is portrayed as weak/worse than the guys at something she should be fine at or as someone who needs to be protected because she's a fucking badass skilled warrior from Bant not some helpless waif.
