As a fellow miraculous fan who was annoyed by the couffaine “twins”, I was wondering if you’d seen what Thomas Astruc said about their ages. Originally I thought that meant Luka had been aged down to match Juleka and her friends, but apparently Juleka was aged up??? I don’t know how to feel about this I read it on Luka’s wiki page hngngng

(He said Juleka failed some of school and had to repeat a grade, but is older than the rest of her friends)

yes yes it's all good there's a lot of dumb contradictions going on. okay so i did a lot of thinking on this and the theories and excuses as to WHY they did it just make me so ANGRY, but i think i have it figured out maybe? (for the time being at least fjdslkafj)

i'm gonna use bubbler as a reference point as it's Early season one and also notably, adrien's 14th birthday.

when luka is introduced in season 2, it was confirmed he was 2 years older, so i believed it the whole: juleka 14 luka 16

so around crocoduel time, juleka would be celebrating her 15th birthday and since people really didn't care about luka until season 4, he had his birthday sometime off screen, so he's 17 at this point, fair?

since they Are twins (cringe) they were likely 15 this entire time, and now, as all of the class is coming up on their 15th birthdays (about a year since bubbler, right?) the couffaines just celebrated their 16th. so they kinda met in the middle.

as far as the whole 'getting held back' (see 'excuses') it's balogna and i hate it? marinette and juleka had apparently been in the same class for quite some time, so it would've needed to be pretty early on. there's some other excuses that kinda make me mad (i will elaborate if asked lol) as to why they did it, but i support the idea that no, they're just older bc anarka forgot to enroll them in school the right year, which works especially well now that luka does just go to another school (to make instruments? i am a lil confused)

but this all sparks my reprising question: WHY DIDN'T MARINETTE KNOW JULEKA HAD A TWIN
