It’s Martin Luther King Jr.’s 97th birthday, 97 years since an influential peacemaking, equality advocate & activist was born; MLK. Jr. was a impactful leader, advocate, civil rights activist, pacifist & politician who wished for the acceptance, coexistence & egalitarianism of all races & people regardless of backgrounds during the civil rights movement; a time where the black population started to uprise & greatly advocate for equality in many if not all sectors of life & society from voting, desegregation, equal opportunities and much much more, & MLK was a gigantic player within this legendary movement thanks to his stances of pacifism, nonviolent resistance & his iconic speeches; his most prominent example speeches include: “I have a dream” & “I’ve been to the mountaintop” all of which made himself well known worldwide however those opposing his views & beliefs took it as immense threats to the status quo’s power & resorted to lethal actions & this unfortunately led to his untimely assassination due to such claims, but despite this & reports of his rather controversial character, he was nothing short of a icon within black & African-American politics & history during a time of change, & I wish you a future & peaceful afterlife at the dreamy mountaintop, Martin Luther King Jr. take care & happy MLK Jr Day 2026 in advance
