Do you have an idea of when a new chapter of Time After Time or the Monday Morning fic will be posted? 👉🏻👈🏻 Sorry if this is too forward or pushy. I promise I’m not trying to be.

I plan to have the second part of The Monday Morning Meeting of Extraordinary Minds posted by next-next Monday, at the latest. I’m not sure about Time After Time. The illustrations for the next chapter are nearly finished, but the actual words have a long way to go.

I’m a slow writer generally, and my family and work take priority and most of my time, so I’m sorry for not having regular or more frequent updates. But I will finish my fics!

(And you don’t come off as pushy or too forward—don’t worry about it!)

Hi again, it's me, the anon who is really looking forward to your Monday Morning Meetings fic! Just wanted to say that I saw your banner in progress and I'm so glad to know the work is coming along! I don't have tumblr but I subscribe to your work on AO3 so I will read it at the first chance when you publish it! I love fics that show a really deep emotional / intellectual bond between Albus and Scorpius, not just superficial crushes and excessive making out -- your writing style is so perfect.

WIP Wednesday

“I don’t want to read it.”

“Read what?”

“This letter.” Draco Malfoy tossed an envelope across the kitchen table. It landed with a hearty thwack in front of his wife, who looked down at the scarlet wax seal, stamped with a P.

Astoria picked up the letter and turned it over, smiling. “You don’t want to read a letter from Harry? Your best mate?”

“He’s not— he’s just—it’s not good.”

“What isn’t good? The letter? You haven’t even opened it!” Astoria weighed the letter in her hands and then set it down. She picked up her coffee and hummed into it. “It’s heavy.”

Draco looked out the kitchen window and watched the owl that had just dropped the letter onto his head fly farther away. “I don’t have to.”

He was sure that the letter couldn’t be anything good. A sealed, thick letter from someone who probably— or definitely—hated him could never be anything less than devastating.

And even though Draco was used to rejection, he didn’t feel like indulging in that particular brand of loneliness.

He’d had his fair share of it.

When are you going to post your Monday Morning Meeting fic about Harry, Draco, Scorpius, Albus, etc?

I hope in a couple of months. I need to write its second part and then edit. I’m behind on that fic and about five others, but I have every intention of finishing and posting them.

I’m glad you’re still interested in that one! I’ve had fun so far with dads Draco and Harry.

Six Sentence Sunday

This is from The Monday Morning Meeting of Extraordinary Minds (and Draco Malfoy), during a scene where Draco finds himself at the telephone box visitor entrance to the Ministry:

“Please state your name, and your business,” a cool and monotonous voice said in his ear.

Draco clutched the receiver tightly and said back, “Draco Malfoy. I’m here to speak to someone about a permit because this bloody incompetent government can’t do anything right.”

The receiver was silent for a second before emitting a loud, insistent hum. Bewildered, and slightly offended, Draco pulled the receiver away from his face. “Don’t you take that tone with me,” he chided, and then he slammed the receiver back onto its mount.

On Ponytails...

There’s a part in The Monday Morning Meeting of Extraordinary Minds (and Draco Malfoy) where Draco and Ron come together over their hair-loss woes. There’s background to why Draco has such long hair and why he’s kept it tied back in intricate plaits much of his adult life, and how he helps Ron combat his own thinning hair and receding hairline.

Both men, and Bill, bond over their ponytails.

WIP Wednesday

Here’s a bit from The Monday Morning Meeting of Extraordinary Minds (and Draco Malfoy), featuring Draco and Scorpius, Bill Weasley, and Rolf Scamander, and very little context: 

“Scorpius, hey, come over here.”

“What’s going on?”

“Albus,” Bill said, nodding over to where Albus still stood with his dad. “Is he your boyfriend?”

“Yes.”

“Right. Great. Well, how’s it going?”

“Good, I guess—”

“That’s wonderful. How are you doing, protection wise, then?”

“Bill, really?”

“Um—we haven’t really—my mum told me to take things slow—”

“Terrible advice.”

“Shut up, Rolf. Bill, maybe this was a mistake. I think I can take it from here—”

“Because let me tell you, Scorpius, the Weasley virility, that fiery libido, it’s very difficult to contain—”

“Christ, Bill—”

“—now, I don’t know about the Malfoys, but Albus is half-Weasley, so keep that in mind—”

“The Malfoys are just fine, thank you.”

“You’re going to want to learn all about wand movement.”

“Rolf.”

“—look at my father—Albus’s grandfather: seven children, and most of us with little beasts of our own—”

“It is animalistic at times.”

“Wrap it up, Bill, they’re walking over.”

“Wrapping it up, now that’s a curious Muggle idea—”

“Rolf.”

“—oh, yes, preparation is key, for any scenario and with any person—”

“Preparation, participation, penetration.”

“ROLF.”

“—and quite possibly some perspiration, if you’re doing things right—”

“Okay. Okay!”

Scorpius looked utterly aghast.
