Favorite Albums 2014, #7: MN.ROY
It's glitchy, it's cacophonous, it lacks direction, it's messy, it's part times noisy, it's part time serene and beautiful. D/P/I's MN.ROY is a mix of so many elements. It's a journey that's almost impossible to keep track of since there's not a very apparent cohesiveness or flow to it. It's what an album who's been microwaved, and then ran through a smoothie mixer might sound like.
You can't really describe what's going on on this record, you pretty much just have to hear what it sounds like to be able to grasp it. If you're looking for something experimental, glitchy, and difficult to keep track of, then this is the album for you.
